The anti rejection medication she has to take actually suppresses the white blood cells in order to allow the new kidney the opportunity to settle into it's new host body. One of the side effects, though, is her immune system is extremely vulnerable at the moment meaning she's susceptible to any illnesses people may be carrying. According to the specialist she's under, this means no visitors & no visiting allowed, so as to avoid being with other people in a confined space.
Word of warning, she's gunning for you after saying she was a dee dah!!

Thats what i like to hear, a good positive post whether its fantasy or not. The thought of it becoming a reality would be just the lift that is required sooner rather than later.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to post good will messages on here, emails and texts. They have meant a great deal to Laura, especially, and the family. We know that the start of this new season has been somewhat inauspicious, with a great deal of angst amongst the fans. So the warmth of feeling towards us has been particularly appreciated.

Main reason is we're hoping Laura will be fit enough to get her boots on and be back for the next home game!! Let's face it, she can't be any worse than the team is at present.

We're that desperate that you could be leading the attack with myself in the nets if Steele isn't right!!

Keep smiling and hope to see Laura and yourselves soon.

I'm sure Laura will feel more comfortable in her own surroundings and hopefully this will aid in a speedy recovery.
Best Wishes from all of us.

Re: Can we have an update please

I would like to thank everyone for the messages.
I'm feeling fine, still a little tender obviously and have to be very careful not to overdo things but touchwood healing well.
Back to the QMC Nottingham tomorrow (have to go twice a week for now) for more blood tests to check that the kidney is working ok.
Hopefully I'll be able to socialise again soon as I can't wait to go out with friends and also get back to College.
