Villa and Norwich both looking to sign him. Fleetwood don't really want to sell but have put a price of £1m on him as he is entering the last year of his contract and so far refused a new contract.
More chance of proving himself in the championship if he came here rather than villa or norwich. He could end up sat next to bree warming villas bench. But he would chose the money no doubt.
Do you not realise that the '£3million player', in this instance, was a player we signed for f*ck all, twelve months ago?
You are kidding yourself. We have brought in approximately £25m in transfer fees in the last eleven months. How much of that has been reinvested? The club's wage bill will be structured so that it is covered by turnover without any transfer fees. The transfer fees are not being used to take the club to the next level but to provide insurance if/when we get relegated.
I think that 1. We should offer him the captaincy in order to increase his wages (done); 2. Offer him an extended contract beyond one year (done??); 3. Bring in a replacement in case we cannot manage 2 (done - McCarthy); 4. If 2-3 fail, try to arrange a pre-contract agreement with Swansea to let him depart in January, agreeing a fee of no less than £3 million and securing Ollie McBurnie now. That's the best we could do and I have a feeling that is what the club are trying to do, which is probably why it is taking longer than expected.
Angus? McCarthy? McGeehan? Moncur? Who knows. When we signed Yiadom I wasn't thinking that he'll be leaving for the Premier League after one season. I was probably more disappointed that we were replacing George Williams with somebody from Barnet.
Let's face it - we are making Hecky's job impossible. Yids stays for me. What we loose will be not be as much as the deficit caused by relegation. This side will struggle in case without more proven players departing. I think it's pretty clear what the coach wants and that's good enough for me.
If we sold Yiadom for £3 million plus McBurnie , because Yiadom didn't originally cost us anything we would be getting a player plus the cash to fund his and probably part of another players wages. McBurnies value is not known so it's difficult to assess but he is in their first team squad. It doesnt look as though Swansea would be prepared to offer much more for Yids and Huddersfield might be reluctant to offer above what they've already bid. I don't want him to go but if it's right his agent has been involved and he's refused a new contract the last thing you need in the camp is a player who could upset the team spirit and harmony in the changing room. For that reason even if he is our best asset it might be best to take the money and let him go rather than let him leave for nothing like Watkins and Scowen at the end of the season.
Well said I never thought he would come straight from barnet on a free make the championship team of the year and then attract premiership interest either.
Transfer income does not fund wages. Can't say it simpler than that. I'd also doubt the validity of McBurnie being part of Swansea's first team squad but ho hum
as much as I rate yids if the club could get 4m+ for him i'd take it, his replacement is at the club, I think macarthy will be the next big thing from the little bit I saw of him Tuesday,
We've brought in 7-8 players and still have MacDonald. Safe to say any one of the could be. That's the whole point of the plan.
Why do people have to counter argue with total rubbish? No-one has said that we should spend that much, Conan did not and i cant find a post which says he did? Every time someone says that we should maybe actually pay more for a player they are then jumped on by some going way over the top and making out that the OP is the one that is making crazy demends! Why do people such as yourself not even try to actually discuss the issue without trying to belittle every point? You answer the same way everytime that Conan posts, its like you are waiting for him , then jump in! Yes he can seem to be a miserable bugger, but you are no different in being boring !
We don't know what McBurnie earns and we don't know the improved offer we have made to Yiadom. Let's hypothetically say they were offering Yiadom £10k per week and McBurnie would accept £8k. That means we could pay McBurnie his £8k and put the other £2 k towards paying another player in our squad. As a member of Swanseas 2017/18 First team squad ( please see attachment) could we put McBurnies value at £750k.? If we did the cash plus player deal we would then technically (on the books) get £3.75 million, a replacement in a position where currently we are really short and one who wants to play for Barnsley FC, which to me is better than one who appears unsettled and is able to walk for free at the end of the season.! http://www.skysports.com/swansea-city-squad
Andy Yiadom is a Kyle walker that can actually defend. Therefore he is worth 125 million quid. We'll probably end up selling for 2.5 mill.
In the local rags down here in 'sheep shagger' land reports are saying Swansea are after getting Bony back from Citeh..... that could easily free up McBurnie.... its on the BBC site too http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40699312
