I assessed my sh@gging skills using a similar method. I awarded myself 99%. Yes ladies. 99%. DMs are open.
Perfection is a journey, not a destination. Anyway, my Service Level Agreement with ladies clearly states a 2% error rate.
It’s a fabulous wish list the OP has but of all the difficulties/challenges we have as a club I don’t think the goalie’s position is high on the priority list.
sorry to drag this back up, but could not be bothered to retype it all, the young lads have done OK,but for next step we do need a new experienced keeper, next season
fair enough ,every corner I see with either in goal I think this is going to be a goal against us, respect your opinion
Of the two I think Walton is the best and if he had played tonight the mistake for the second wouldn’t have happened. Would I prefer another tall Germanesque keeper in the mold of our last 2 that can dominate his area... definitely
Need to get Walton back. I'm not one to criticise VI, but I think he's over-thought this. Play your Number One GK unless he's injured.
I still dont know where anyone thinks we are going to get a better keeper from - Radlinger was experienced and bigger than Collins and Walton but not as good as either of them. Many on here thought Davies wasnt good enough for the Championship so unless we could somehow find another Muller I dont see a keeper we can afford being any better than Walton. I have a preference for Walton but dont think Collins is out of his depth.
Both keepers will be more experienced next season having benefitted from more game time at Championship level. I didn't see the game last night, so aside from brief highlights, I can't use that in assessing. Goalkeepers are always going to make mistakes or be questioned if they could do better or make better decisions. Walton has much to learn, and he'll likely have spells where he struggles, but he's doing enough to be goalkeeper in a mid table championship side. Collins is ok as an understudy and to swap in and out to keep competition going. An experienced goalkeeper is going to cost a lot and not necessarily add a lot. Walton isn't great on crosses, and neither were Watson or Luke Steele, but they both played hundreds of games for us and saved us more points than they lost. Walton isn't as good as either yet, but I'm definitely content to stick with him and give him game time to develop and learn. I'm much more concerned with our playing style than I am our goalkeepers.
I missed this thread when it first came round. Its just brightened up my morning. There's some proper and I mean proper fūcking cuckoos on here.
