No. I agree with what he's done. The point I was making is it was pretty obvious that's what he was going to do from his presser.
As much as love the romance within your post, I think where we are currently, there's not much chance of that kind of cup run. We were a Championship club at the time, with a far more experienced and stronger squad. Hope to be proven wrong like
I don't disagree with any of that. My point was that a load of posters on here are suggesting it was pretty much ' a meaningless game' and the team selection suggests they were right! That being the case, it doesn't seem too strong an ask that the fans are informed of that so that they can decide whether they want to travel to watch the game. Incidentally I don't think it's for the Coach to decide whether he takes a tournament seriously or not - he's simply a servant of the Club: in our case, for a very short time.
I actually did think last night that I probably wouldn’t have bothered if we were going to end up with a youth team on the field at the end. Taking off our best players when 2-1 down it almost looked like he wanted to lose the game (I know it sounds ridiculous, especially as we equalised at the end). Thought the starting line up was a decent mix. But to take all the first teamers off early while only a goal down just made me wonder why they bothered playing them in the first place? Russell was absolutely running the show when he got hooked.
I didn't go. Was pondering between attending the game with a couple of others (particularly after Saturday's showing) and Ripon races. Heard Collins pre match comments so went to the Races!
