Sounds has though Howard and his agent have been trying to find a new club for some time. Can't blame Davey for a player wanting to **** the nest and spread his wings to a bigger club than ours, it happens all the time in football.
Brian Howard has been a excellent player for us and we will miss him. I'm worried now who will score the goals, our present midfield have not a goal in them, and our forwards, well enough said on that subject. We need to get someone in on loan, with a possible transfer fee come January. Macken and Rigters plus Odejayi dosn't give you to much optimsm. So come on Davey lad spend that money for Howard and a bit more besides and lets get some quality in the team. If not then we are heading to the deep abyss.

 

So that proves my point - where's the evidence we're going to get battered tomorrow?

We have only lost to them once in last 8 years. And kept 2 clean sheets. Doesn't look too bad more like.

I think we'll turn the corner now howards gone, i think he was dissrupting things behind the scenes and messing with all the other players heads, he's bound to have told some of them that he didn't even want to be there, how would the players feel, here's a guy that dosen't want to be here playing week in week out bollocking me all the time when he's just as bad.

I'm getting sick and tired of the fecking negative, whinging, and calling from some people on here. After a performance like Saturday's straight back on the Davey out band wagon.......... your the disgrace!

I for one was very encouraged by Saturdays performance! It proved alot when you think about it.....
1. How much we have missed the influence of both Muller & Anderson, and the positive effect they have on the team
2. We can pass the ball as well as anyone in this league
3. We can defend as well as anyone in this league (another clean sheet)
4. We can play as a team
5. We didn't miss Brian Howard and no matter how good some people may think he is we are not reliant on him.
6. We need clinical finisher up front to score goals.
7. We need a tall striker to compete in the air (no matter how hard our boys tried they struggle to win a header against big defender).
8. The positive effect the fans can have on the team. Lots of singing and encouragement on Sat, lets keep it up!
9. Togetherness, we can play as a team and work for each other.
10. The players do have passion and look like they are playing for the club, and the manager!


It also make me wonder what has been going on behind the scenes, i.e. when BH informed the board he wanted to move on in the summer, did other players know? Was SD instructed to keep it under wraps, in the hope he would change his mind and sign on.

We will never know! but if this was the case it would undoubtly have had a negative effect on SD and the players. And would explain alot, in terms of recent performances. All said and done it is difficult situation and now it is out in the open, the club appear to be keeping us well informed. Lets hope its resolved ASAP and then we can concentrate on football once again......

Always enjoyed sharing opinions on here......... but I'm getting fed up of the negative crowd!

I was merely putting an alternative slant on situation and basically saying its not time to throw the towel in just yet!

The way you lot are talking we may as well be relegated now!

I'm not saying we will win tonight or on saturday....... but I'm not gonna write us off!

For starters Ipswich are not having a good run at home, I'd take a draw there any day. But I'm not expecting us to get hammered. Much as we haven't scored goals we've created chances and as SD pointed out we have only conced 2 in the last 5 games! so a hammering isn't on the cards......

As for Donny, they seem to be in a similar position to us i.e. creating chances but can't find the back of the net. Most likley result is 0-0 but as its a Derby who's know.... last time we played Donny they played Dave Penny's way, not the most skillful side but played with passion.... under new man, they are differnt outfit! more of a passing side... why can't we win?
