of course but last year we had a high points tally and this was not good enough, as you said "apart from the cup run" says it all! FA Cup semi's beating Liverpool and Chelsea back to back was a huge achievment raising expectations for this season, realistically we have one of the lowest average home attendances and are one of the smaller clubs in the league which makes it even more difficult for us to compete but thats not to say we should not be doing better or is an excuse but we spent 4 years or so in League One so maintaining our Championship status is always a priority, do not get me wrong I want the club to be as succesful as possible but if we stay up (which I believe we will) no matter where we finish some fans will always moan about progress! Realistically we are 2 wins are from 15th yet if we finished there this would not be classed as progress to some!
Yes Wondered where this thread had gone! Still think we're going down now? Fair enough if one game's changed your mind...
Im still up for the bet Nice of you to confirm after 1 win..... I have complete faith in Davey to turn these new players into a peice of **** and drag them down to his level of playing. JCR in the middle even though he scored does not work. Having no wingers against a decent team will not work. Charlton on Saturday is a much bigger game that last night. If they get anything from the match I think they could drag themselves out of it. So yes, £50 it is. I am will happily give it to you if we are mathematically safe.
I think more like 15 points needed this season The next two Saturdays are crucial. Win both and we'll need9 points from 13 games. Lose them and as you rightly point out, there's some real toughies to play in the run in.
Yeah it's win win for you mate If we go down I'll be doubly pissed off Man of my word, so I will cough up if the unthinkable happens. I'm sure you are too so let battle commence. Come on you Reds! (clap)
Staying up again but questions to be asked... 1. After 3 seasons, can Simon Davey take us to the top half of the table.....i think NO 2. Some of the signings are class how did he find them? 3. Some of his signings could have been class with the right support and direction.. Why didnt that happen? 4 Mr Cryne, do we have to suffer another season of struggle, the squad we have at the minute can challenge the top half easily 5 Who would we like to see in charge... me personally on a lower wage would be Dave Bassett !!! Open to serious debate now.. we all want the best for our team so lets see what the answers are
