    Here we go..........

Lets drag it all back up again. Try to turn over a new leaf seeing as how it was years ago and there are still shitty comments like that.

We didnt actually get in trouble, just threatened with it, not by the club or the owners of the pics but by knobheads like you and Tommy.

Please, lets let it go and move on eh.

    sorry mate

to be honest I wasn't even posting when that stuff happened, just heard it on the grapevine.

merely trying to point out that Dreamboy was right  and that this new site will have to be careful with whatever images are used etc.

    no offence meant, honestly :)

Hi guys, nice work so far.

IMO The forum on here should be migrated into the new look website, this forum lacks a lot of features and its layout isn’t very user friendly. This would be a good opportunity to build our own custom forum rather than use MegaBBS.

I think every page needs its own RSS feed so that users can subscribe as well as an image gallery where we can upload our own images, some validation process will be needed.

The new design needs to use 100% of the screen its also not accessible (but its still in development so that can come later), I cant stand the official sites fixed width, the technology is availed to develop a website that’s fits everyone’s screen and still look great, lets not be afraid of that.

I think we need to develop some in house applications rather than use other free products I know they are a quick solution but we could develop something really special here that’s customised to our needs, this would make us unique.

This sort of movement has been coming for some time now the official site is basicly an advertising board with about 30% of the information displayed relevant to fans, the clubs sold out big time.

I would be happy of offer any advise and help with this project as long as we try and do something really special taking no short cuts. I have always dreamed of developing a website far far greater than the official one giving fans a real “website by the fans for the fans”, if we are going to say that lets make sure we do it right.

I agree with you there mate but it costs big bucks to get the forum software and you have to re-new every year, a good thing would be have a donation to raise money for the software but all threads would be lost :( I reccomend if this goes ahead a vBulliten forum software as its proffesional and easy to use plus it is has very good security.

Here is one of my wallpapers i've just made to show what i can do (tumbleweed) :

Well we arent about to ditch this forum software. We can/will integrate it with a new look and feel are there are lots of other opportunities to custom build things if you would like to get involved.

This is the best software we have had in ~10 years of this forum.</p>

Be careful with liquid layouts, readability goes right out of the window when you get the layout too wide.</p>

Can you add me to the other forum please?</p>

DaleCozy: Nice design. I was thinking of developing the forum myself so that its free and built just for us to meet our needs.

driver: I have designed many 100% width layouts that have proven very effective, Iv even won an award for one of them, as long as you take into account different browsers and stick to divs/spans and CSS I believe it can be done very well.

Does anyone know if we can export the data held by this forum? and if so what format can we get it in?

The beauty of having our own custom forum would be that we can change what ever we dislike, it would be developed to meet our exact needs. You cant buy a forum to meet your exact needs as they are designed to be used by multiple community’s. I can’t believe this forum has been paid for, I thought this was some free subscription.

Sorry, obviously didnt make myself clear before

    <font size="6">We arent about to ditch this forum software! :D </font> </p>

    </p>

THe data is held in a SQL backend but I think development from scratch of a better forum than this would be a significant project in itself.

i agree, we can just integrate this into the new layout, which gives it a new layout its self, and new icons/logos/etc can be made to spice it up slightly if need be.

on the topic of width, ive made the area for text/the forum around 660px wide, thats easy enough room for everything, plus some people may still be on 800x600 monitors so it would work fine, and it also enables my to make it look a bit more flash than a full screen, one colour website
