I think both parties realise that Cauley is there for squad depth rather than a starter. As for Carlton It’s a big step up but he’s a talented lad so who knows.

Didn't say he was crap, he's not. But the argument about professionals knowing what's best doesn't stand up imo. All football clubs have professionals and Fulham decided Woodrow could leave.

I bow to your superior knowledge. Maybe give Luton a call to share your wisdom.

Well he didn't get many starts in the championship so I imagine the step up will be even less. I said it a few week back though I think Luton will struggle to attract players pelly said on here they had a salary cap of 15k they were sticking to, that for a start and your going to struggle so they may have to give some time to the squad from last season.

Its not superior knowledge as you know. Just an observational comment. You are better than that patronising comment. I just had a view which is different to yours and tried to explain it.

I may be wrong but Luton may be looking forward 12-18 months and already thinking of building in the Championship. Rather than pay a big transfer fee for a new bloke keep Woodrow as back up for later. Saves money and he's not crap. Squad player? Just a thought.

I think your right especially if there keeping to a tight wage structure. Top championship players won't be able to attract top end championship players.

Is he getting a new deal because he’s premier league quality or because they value having a good dressing room & want players like Woodrow & Berry around the place.

My guess would be the latter.

There’s no doubt he was a good player for us but we all saw his last season with us & him not challenging for headers & not looking up for the fight. Whether people like it or not it’s bound to be a lasting memory for many of us.

There we go then, he’s signed a new deal for a premier league club despite not being good enough to make the step up. He’s got a good agent.

What's a contract extension and how does it work?

Lutons manager Edwards thinks he is good enough , I think I will value his opinion & knowledge of a player more than the average supporter .

He's done very little in the championship for the past 2 and half years so I doubt he will do put in the premier league. Be surprised if he starts 10 games

He hardly played any minutes last season due to injuries but towards the end of the season when he was getting back into the swing I read where Edwards played him in a deeper midfield role & I feel sure that Edwards thinks he is worthy of a place in his squad otherwise he would not have extended his contract , I think I will trust his judgement above both of our opinions & wish him well .

    Congrats to Cauley.

Decent footballer and was always a threat from the edge of the area but has lost his legs very early. I can only assume some strange injury occurred. Played in around half of Luton's games last campaign and I can't imagine he'll get any more game time in the Prem.

He made 27 appearance last season for Luton in the championship 5 starts and 22 substitute appearances. Scoring 2 goals the season before for us he scored 4 goals and started 25 games 2 of those goals were pens.

I think it's more a case of a squad player and keeping the group together. Luton are reportedly capping wages at 15k so far they've signed mads and the lad from Rotherham who Wednesday were after.

I wish woodrow well he did well for us apart from the last 18 months. But do I think he will score many or even play much for Luton in the prem? No but that's my opinion.

Considering some on here thought he was not worthy of squad last year in division one speaks volumes for the lad considering he just got a contract extension in the premier league , his goals stats over his career are pretty impressive especially for us but reading between the lines his role at Luton may not be as a striker but obviously the manager thinks he can do job for them in some capacity but as we prepare for another season in the third division Cauleys critics should note that he is preparing for a season in the premier league , enough said Cauley !!!

I support barnsley football club not cauley woodrow. I thought he was good while he was here bar the last 18 months were he was awful in some games looked disinterested and his lack of pace was evident but the cauley fan boys defended him instead digging out other players.
Weather he got a new deal or not doesn't mean he will do a job. We got promoted under stendel and vic got a new deal so did Ben Williams. The latter wouldn't get a game in my 5 a side team.

Good luck cauley I'll be watching out for you mads, Jordan Clarke, Jack Walton, carlton Morris and any other ex red I've missed. I have my suspicions on who could surprise a few in the premier league I'll keep it to myself don't want to upset anyone.

It's like a penis extension, but unless you are in the porn world the contact extension is more lucrative.
