its this simple Pinball.. they vote labour because their father , their fathers father, their fathers father, their fathers father father father father father... as nauseaum quite simply if a Monkey dressed in red was put up for the Labour candidate of Barnsley and its surrounding areas it would win hands down. And its all simply down to the Mine strikes/closures under Thatcher... Now the only vote is Labour , even though they have left the area to desolation. As they have also done in the North East and the Welsh Valleys.
I think that it's just electioneering, and suspect that this will be the main reason why support falls off next year. They're now totally united under the one policy that they're willing to admit to and the vague concept of "common sense politics". At some point they're going to have to come to terms with the fact that economic liberalism and nationalism don't sit well together, and half of their support will disappear back to the left/right.
Re: its this simple Pinball.. they vote labour because And the Tories are noted for being wealthy. We can't be having prosperity and wealth now can we?
Re: hers another sandal wearer The PC Brigade have even infiltrated the museum in the Town Hall. Whilst on a visit up from London, I visited the museum which centres on the historical development of Barnsley. High in a case there is a copy of the Koran, with words to the effect that "Salima can study the Koran and the Bible, so she can decide which religion to follow." Lol! To my knowledge Islam has ZERO relevance in the history of Barnsley, yet the Koran's prominently on display there. When I e-mailed the museum to explain any relevance of Islam to my town, needless to say I received no reply.
Re: its this simple Pinball.. they vote labour because There all the same ed millibands family are millionaires his house is worth 2 n half million yet he is trying to represent the working class couldnt make it up
Re: hers another sandal wearer God damn those foreigners coming in with their rich alluring spices broadening out tastes. Send the buggers back!
UKIP policies. End the minimum wage. So a return to £1.48 an hour and all that jazz. The same rate of tax for everybody's earnings regardless of income so in effect massive tax rises for the poor and cuts for the rich. Slashing maternity and paternity rights. Oh and making the circle line a circle again. A party for working class people of course they are... As for racism. The outpourings of some of their candidates make it clear where they stand. sorry mate but you are sooo naive take a look at the opulent life the labour councillors in Barnsley have... sorry fella, the folk of Barnsley are totally being 'hoodwinked' but hey lets look forward to the Tuscan Village that's gonna be called Barnsley... REALLY ? and you really believe they have your best interests in their hearts. I now laugh out loud.
Re: its this simple Pinball.. they vote labour because Exactly, and it's the hypocrisy of that party that gets me more than anything. But people just swallow it every single time. A party riddled with clowns
Re: sorry mate but you are sooo naive HAHA, and the head of the whole enterprise of BMBC is getting/or has got a knighthood. Christ on a bike. When I heard I honestly thought it was a wind up. Sadly, no. Still has me laughing now.
Re: its this simple Pinball.. they vote labour because Not just the party but the unions that support them. Hypocrisy on a gargantuan scale.
Re: its this simple Pinball.. they vote labour because Labour represent two groups of people; Guardian-reading right-on middle class people who live in million pound houses in Hampstead/ Primrose Hill and immigrants/minorities. I don't know why white working class people would vote for them because not only do they not represent those people they actually despise them and think they're an ill-educated, unreconstructed, dangerous rabble.
Re: its this simple Pinball.. they vote labour because My take on things? Oooh, and i got called Mr - (nearly as good as being called "Sir", without the "you're making a scene" tagged on at the end. - thanks Homer Simpson) UKIP's only interest is the rich - i hesitate to call them Tory Light, or indeed call the Torys UKIP Light. Their only interests are those of our so-called betters. (check out the comments about too many educated people in London meaning they didn't get the support you need). check out their policies (if indeed you can find any.) Privatisation of the NHS, increasing taxes for the poorly paid and a bizarre obsession with immigration (without taking into account people leaving the country) should be enough to tell anyone that this is not and never will be a party of the people (der volk, anyone?) as for the racism issue. they seem to think that anyone not born here (and it would seem having umpteen generations back all born here too) is a 2nd class citizen - i doubt there is anyone in the whole country who's every ancestor dating back to even only 1066 was born here, never mind whatever year BC these nutters want, but hey ho. to me racism is a phobia (ie irrational fear) of anyone not born in the same town as you. don't get me started on the 'how can it be racist when we're the same colour?' bullshine. race is arbitrary - there's no such thing, except perhaps as a tool to divide people up. this country was built on immigration, each different group bringing their own culture, stories, skills and traditions to the table. Any UKIPers out there care to tell me which are acceptable and which aren't? UKIP are simply (and i mean that literally - tee hee) rich, greedy, self serving with a nice line in attracting some of societies not so nice elements. you want to be a part of that - i pity you, i really do.
My Fellow Immigrants. Calm down. 180 seats out of 3000 plus contested. Hardly earth shattering. To be frank it's good to hear the London based media completely ignoring what has happened in London (in terms of ukip). Doesn't fit the story. "Bloke with Pint gets some councillors."
They're hardly going to do well in London when that is the main area where Labour's imported voters live. Labour also did well on Bradford and Kirklees. 70% of minorities vote Labour and that's why they're so keen to import more of them.
