but i remeber Catching the 6pm bus to wakefield
did not have a car
one Sunday night so i could go to Hansons at Newmiller dam
sit in my truck all night so i could leave at 4 am to go to Penrith
so i could get back for a 1 30 kick off on Monday
to see barnsley lose a Milk cup replay against Workungton
and a Barnsley lad scored the Goal

but i could be wrong
but im sure he was the first barnsley Sub tho

Keith burkinshaw ex Tottenham manager presently Assistant manager at Watford was in my class a Barnsley Grammar school- 1946-51.
PLEASE don't mention Spud Murphy alongside these legends.

and in them days they used to do second half Commentries
and it went like this
Raymond glendenning commentating
CLEGG kicks off for Barnsley
and the ball just scrapes the Crossbar

He was my father, I was always being dragged round the local football and cricket teams to watch him play/manage.

I don't remember my Grandad though, died a few weeks after I was born.

I remember big Sam mind, he was a good laugh.
