The roads were narrow and it created a bit of a bottle neck but no-one really lost ground. All the peleton were together for the finish into Harrogate. To condemn the whole Tour because of that is typically small minded and reflects the attitude of ignorant people who tend to find fault with most things they don't understand...
It's all part and parcel of road racing There were far worse scenes on the mountains of the Giro (d'Italia) this year with riders knocked from their bike. I didn't see anything particularly noteworthy yesterday. An excellent advertisement for Yorkshire here in Australia. Shame Cavendish took out Gerro though...
its been a brilliant atmosphere up here but the kind of stuff I was on about was what riders have been quoted on after the race, all said it was great but could do without folk taking selfies etc with their backs to the peloton and needing all the space they can get and spectators increasing the danger element by restricting space. Mind you they probably don't know what they are on about!
