But they lost, and it was an abject abomination of a display again. www.youtube.com/watch?v=84gmKIKTk40 Cracking song from a Top Album
No I aint that daft the posts on this forum spoke volumes! as did the commentary Will be attending again soon though and it will be home and away occasionally
I work with a couple of Blunts who are season ticket holders and they both said that the same happened at Brammall Lane. He signed a few decent players, got them playing some good football then appeared to totally lose the plot after a few defeats. Apparently he changed the line-up every week, went all defensive away from home and tried to nullify the opposition rather than attack. They went on a bad run which ended in the team losing confidence, losing passion and his inevitable sack. Very similar scenario to what's happened at Oakwell.
And the same scenario played out by the last what.... 5 or 6 managers. Well every manager after Richie. Coincidence? Not just Danny is it
Don't really remember us losing passion under Robbins or Flitcroft. Problem we had in the Championship was that the players over-achieved and weren't really good enough. How many of them are still playing in the Championship? Most of the players we have now are certainly good enough for this league and IO'd put a fair few in the top 10 in each of their positions so we shouldn't really be flirting with relegation again.
I don't think the famous quote you refer to was Einstein - although he is often attributed to it. According to http://www.quoteyard.com/insanity-is-repeating-the-same-mistakes-and-expecting-different-results/, it dates to "Narcotics Anonymous" in 1981.
Another dark day for the club. Will never stop supporting from afar but simply staggered by this, not least the timing which can only mean they have their new man waiting in the wings. If not, then how is the turmoil and uncertainty of another appointment process going to help at such a crucial point in the season? We are now foremost amongst those joke clubs who hire and fire at will, chanting the mantra of long term development but driven in reality by the lure of short term success. At least be honest about it, scrap the academy and tell managers they've got a season at most to deliver the goods. It's a dangerous, destructive cycle from which no good will come. I wish Danny Wilson all the best and would advise his successor to rent rather than buy in the area. May these be the worst of our days.
Definitely the case I reckon - plus a lot of people on here seem to always want to take the moral high ground these days as well. Anyone who says it was a ridiculous decision obviously hasn't been watching us over the last few months - we didn't look that bad at the start of the season, like a team that needed to gel, but it steadily got worse and not better. I would say a lot of people who reckon Danny was worth sticking with haven't actually watched us in consecutive weeks over the last few months, even the wins have been terrible. Not knocking anyone for not going, my home attendance this year has only been about 70%, but as honest and Matt and Adam are on Player (depending who their guest is) and if that's where a lot of people are drawing their conclusions on performances from, the problems with the team are so deep it's hard to know where to start - like are we just sh*t in some areas, or do we look sh*t as a consequence of being sh*t in one particular area??
