Well I’ve given you a like even though I thought you would have assumed that I knew Davies was out of contract. LOL
They all want to go if someone offers them more money. They are professional footballers. Once more, if they are under contract they cannot go unless the club lets them.
Players refuse to play? If it happens, and as far as I am aware it rarely does, then they are in breach of contract. What would happen with your employer if you refused to work?
Eminently reasonable post and I agree with the underlying sentiment even though i’m still going home and away. Your views on the Board are as valid today as they were last month. They are at best hopeless and at worst devious, incompetent and hopeless. An upturn on the pitch doesn’t change that. They are still the prime reason why we are likely to be relegated from a division that is hopelessly over rated. I’m more than happy to reverse my opinion and eat my words but at the moment my views on the Board are simply based on that unfashionable term ‘evidence’ rather than feeling. Let’s have a further conversation on Feb 1st.
Completely different scenario, are you really comparing a professional footballer to a day to day job? Players form can dip if they don't want to play for a club, what do clubs do? Put them in a disciplinary?? Clubs haven't a leg to stand on so they get rid like plenty of clubs have done. The board could not do anything more for those defenders. And by the way, McIndoe and Vaz Te both refused to play for us.
It's difficult to understand which point by the OP you are addressing as he didn't make a single reference to 'money' or 'spend' or anything of the sort. As for how they conduct their business, I was hoping it wouldn't involve them acting like arsholes and, for the first time in my life (save for a couple of months in 2002), eliciting genuine feelings of embarrassment about how those in charge represent the club I love.
McIndoe started the game at Palace on 18th November 2006. We sold him on 23rd November 2006. There wasn't a game between the two dates. Similarly Vaz Te played the game away at Millwall on 21st January 2012 and we sold him on 31st January 2012. Again, there was no game between the two dates. In which games did they supposedly refuse to play?
Disagree. They are professional footballers, under contract, end of. Refuse to play? Dip in their form? Next thing they’ll be sold on and playing for staylybridge Celtic or Chesterfield because that’s all they’re fit for, I highly doubt any amount of sulking is worth exchanging their lifestyles for an average one. These are the facts of the matter. They are a privileged few but that privilege only extends to their performances on the pitch as that is as far as their individual worth extends. It is therefore not in their own interests to underperform or sulk as they signed a professional contract to start with so I don’t buy into this line of thinking that they hold all the cards imho.
Cryne said in numerous interviews when questioned why we sold them, he said what can you do when they come into the office refusing to play if we don't accept the offer. Didn't he also confirm this at the numerous forums he attended? Maybe the bids were tabled after those game dates? Stating dates doesnt really make a difference.
If you think players dont sulk if they want to move clubs then well, l don't know really what to say. Maybe it doesn't fit the agenda.
If players flatly refuse to extend or refuse to talk. How can clubs win. They simply run their contracts down. Move for nowt and clubs lose out on valuable income. (Fees) not many clubs allow a player to run their contracts down if possible. For that case alone. Better done in the summer rather than the January window to let em go don't you think.
I honestly do not remember them refusing to play for us. During my 50-odd years supporting the club I have seen many players sold. Offhand, I can’t ever remember the club saying that a player had been sold because he refused to play for us. We all know the reality. The club will sell if it feels the price is right, and dressing it up as something else is utterly ridiculous.
The reason that I did not quote the OP's opening remarks is that my comments were not particularly addressing his remarks. They were a general statement of how I feel about our owners and the way that they have conducted themselves since they took charge. Can you be a bit more specific about the ways that the owners have, "acted like arseholes". They have made a couple of statements that were ill advised, but I guess that by using such strong language, you are referring to something else.
It's not ridiculous it's what Cryne stated. He had two offers on the table and they both told him he had to accept it because they didn't want to play. McIndoe was a **** mind, l knew him from his Donny days and my ex Donny girlfriend - we did well to get rid.
Have you never made enquiries with a different employer whilst under contract ? Most people don’t wait for the sack before looking for something else if the situation isn't good where they are. We’ll never know the details of DS departure but whatever the circumstances I don't know many who are happy with how it was handled. As for selling players to balance the books its surely about striking a balance and I think these owners have got it wrong. And as this has been my club for most of the time I’ve had breath in my lungs I’ll continue to post about it’s shortcomings whilst praising its successes when they come. As I am at the moment I can’t get excited about a relegation battle thats all
Not even with the recent upturn in form? If the last three games haven't got your juices flowing, I don't know what will.
Not been going OG, caring for wife after recent op but last time I looked we were still firmly in the mire. See what happens when the Jan window opens.
Well get thissen darn and gior wallowing. Go and support the team. You might get the excitement back. Not know unless tha tries. If you think the board are going to placate you and change the strategy to make you happy. Hang up thi booits. Not being rude just honest. I am among 4 generations of family watching tarn fans going back to the fifties. ( me 60’s) believe me. seen worse than this with less hope. So get off thi arse. The football we are playing is much better than last season. Difference being div 1 was *****. ( I’ve said on another post, this team playing this type of football would walk that league) Or have you better things to do. If so, sad to say, Call it a day. We lost hundreds if not thousands of fans during the miners strike. Due to the club not making it easier for striking miners to attend. ( my brother helped me in that respect) Wouldn’t even reduce the prices. Once the bug has gone. It’s difficult to get it back.
Fair enough mate, at the end of the day it's only football. All the best to you and yours in the New Year.
