I reckon..... some of it was down to the amount of space between seats, it just wasn't cramped enough, so even tho it was nearly full, it just didnt feel it. If theyd squeezed the rows up a bit they coulda made it a 120,000 capacity, mind you not enough bogs for the 90,000 as it is.
RE: Fans nervous given recent shoddy form? Most people near me seemed nervous, comments revolving around whether we were going to see "FA-Cup-Barnsley" or "League-Barnsley" turn up... and most fans seemed deflated when their worst fears were realised after the first couple of minutes. I really wish the pre-match interviewers would ask our lads if they can remember who their teammates are and where they tend to stand (stationary) on the pitch. That way we'd have time to prepare for what to expect

I didn't realise that the 'new' fans all took silences with them to stop the 7,500 regulars from making any noise. The Barstewards.

Yes just think how much noise us proper fans would have made 7500 of us spread out over 33000 seats - like that would have worked
RE: Yes just think how much noise us proper fans would have made I dunno, there are some of the 'larger' variety among us!
