RE: So, since the club had not projected in last years plan More than half of your £2.8million is likely to be used to pay off a £1.5million loan which, if not dealt with in October, will accrue a large interest rate - according to someone on this site who has no reason to disseminate unrest. The signings we have made will have accounted for yet more of this money. We have to exercise caution. Shep is doing that. Part of me wants us to go insane and make signings a go-go, but we won't have a club in 12 months if we do. I KNOW that 'we won't have a club' is an oft-repeated phrase, but it's true. Who's going to fund the signings? Who's going to pay their wages? Don't you think that the people we already owe money to might feel that they ought to be given first dibs over any cash that we DO have? How else can it be for a club a) in debt and b) with small attendances?
Again GS has previouslky stated that without the PO's the club were projected to be on an even keel come the end of this season.
I am not suggesting we throw money about left right and centre I am merely suggesting that we are not skint.
We will be if we go down again.
We need stability in THIS division where the attendances are likely to be 4000 higher.
Failure is not an option. I concede that GS has a fine line to tread its just that I think he is being too cautious.
And this 1.5m..have we only just found out about it or summat? how on earth would the club have found this money had we remained in league 1??? (if indeed there is any truth to it as nothing was said about it until after we were promoted..and then there has been no official statement to that end)
