Forget what I said then about Swansea being a bigger club - irrespective of their better history (something you still seem to be arguing), higher attendances in a newly built stadium, higher league position, better players, ability to attract a big footballing name as manager and the fact that today they are the better footballing side who are unlikely to be involved in a relegation scrap. You set the rules of only remembering 15 years back and discounting everything else whilst clinging onto the Premiership year. As I said before, Wednesday fans get slaughtered on here for their 'big club syndrome' because they can't let go of the past.
RE: So, twice as long as us in the top flight then. nt Define it as you wish Just out of interest a lot of posters have been critical over Davey since last night yet you seem to gravitate towards my posts - why is that??
RE: Forget what I said then Read the fecking stats - they don't have a better history they just finished above us one in 26 years because last season they had a better manager hence they got bigger crowds. I haven't even mentioned the year in the Premier. They have spent one more year in the top division than we have, less in the second tier and never won a major trophy. This is like having a conversation with my Grandma
RE: So, twice as long as us in the top flight then. nt I think thats a fair question you swerved and seem incapable of answering. From the list you supplied it can't be: History of the club Size of the ground Average attendances Success Time in top flight Highest transfer fee Annual Wages Potential Catchment area Last league finish Please feel free to answer or just swerve again.
To be honest it's not up to me to make a case for how big your own club is If you want to do the club a disservice feel free. I'll continue to believe that we are as big if not bigger than plenty of clubs in this division and can aim higher. What I will say is that Swansea's records transfer fee paid is £400,000 - 1/3 of what we paid for Hume who isn't even our record transfer. We wasted the same amount on a cast off like Mostto and I bet Hammill wasn't much less than that. Massive club Swansea.
RE: To be honest Accepting and doing a disservice on the where the club are, are two different things. If you can't explain why you think we are bigger than QPR except for money and Cardiff but for a crest of a wave then theres no point continuing.
RE: To be honest Not accepting where the club is is the whole point of the discussion - if you can't see that then there is no point in continuing
RE: To be honest I fully accept we finished 5th bottom last year and are currently bottom of the league conceeding 7 goals in 3 games. I fully appreciate that. I struggle to accept how that justifies us to be classed as 'bigger' than any of the clubs you mentioned other than Plymouth. I'll make this my last post - unless of course you can help me understand what you have based your opinion on other than hope or blind optimism.
RE: To be honest You believe what you want to believe and I'll do the same It's the same thing with the manager some people think he's good enough others think he's a useless lovely person It's not up to me to convince you that Barnsley FC are bigger than Man Utd or bigger than Accrington Stanley
If were up near the top though we'd be getting 18,000 plus No doubt in my mind. The crowds come back when we win.
RE: how the **** would you know if there were boo boys every week? nt He can hear it on the radio when they do the updates on Radio Sheffield He's a big tarn fan is E.I Addio - never misses 'em on the radio
