There used to be a ladder ran up the centre of the floodlight as I recall (it was 30 something years ago). The lads in the video lost my respect when I saw they were fastened on. Total wimps!

Should the day ever come where we move from Oakwell to one of these god awful out of town meccano set grounds, it will be the day I stop going.

Agree and who cares if it takes the away fans a while to get out of the car park.

There's some terrible new grounds that aren't good on the eye and a bit boring - Keepmoat, Leicester etc but there's been some fantastic designs recently especially the bigger stadiums, Tottenham, Liverpool etc. I think Rotherham's is one of the best smaller stadiums around and it creates a great atmosphere making it sound like there's a lot more in than there is. Our atmosphere is lost in the great expanse that is Oakwell, maybe if we ever build the corners or the West Stand a taller structure will hold some of that in.

I think the lack of atmosphere has been down to the standard of football on show over the majority of the last few seasons. There's nothing wrong with the ground as it is.

Don't know if it's any different now but last time I was at the Hawthorns they had their corners filled in with flat steel structures rather than seats, I reckon this would work well for keeping the noise in a bit and can't cost much surely? Plus it would just be extra space for advertising.

I'd be happier if it was 100.

It does improve the acoustics and the overall look of the ground - Bramall Lane, Ibrox, Villa Park, Carrow Road, The Valley are all good examples. There's a gale always blowing through the North/East corner an all according to Heinz Muller.

They could build another 'welcome' stand type structure in the other corner between the north & east. would fill that corner in & look loads better.

    Perish the thought
The west stand is a disgrace though and does nothing for the club other than making us look small time
Pity we couldn't do something considering Palmer Construction are on board as sponsors

The solution is simple. Traffic management after games. Other clubs do it, we dont

i love the west stand, i go in there whenever i get to a match... but id love to stand on proper terraces to watch the game!!

The west stand needs knocking down asap and a car park being built upon it. Problem solved.
