I agree there could be gains to be had but it would need serious investment and whether it pays off....I would have doubts. They can be great white elephants, The Keepmoat for instance was built by Donny Council for £32m in the early 2000's, .they didn't build Office space in because there was plenty of town centre Office space un-rented, and then found they couldn't attract artists to play there either...by 2012 it was losing several hundred grand a year and decided to (almost) gift it to Doncaster Rovers...believe it or not Rovers got the whole thing on a 99 year lease at less than 2 grand a week...and they still can't make money, their losses since they took it over are well over £30m.
No excuses then, as even though I rarely go in the upper East, I've still sat there at least twice since 2016!
A bonfire night fireworks display with tickets starting at £2....up to a fiver..small kids free, without knowing for certain I would doubt Hallam FM paid a penny to be involved, I know the guys who put the funfair on there and I can tell you for a fact they pay very little for a pitch nowadays...in the great scheme of things a bonfire night event once a year is hardly likely to make much of a dent in their losses.
Of course it won't make a huge dent in the losses as we are talking about one day. But they don't pay very little, I'm not sure why they'd tell you that. I'm not sure why they told you that they paid for pitches either as it wasn't organised in the way of each pitch being separate and paid for
If they weren't paying for the pitch at that event it that means even less revenue for Rovers...but they do pay for pitches at other events that I am involved in organising, and they pay very little nowadays, the simple fact is they just don't take the money they used to.
https://issuu.com/mattgrimshaw/docs/west_stand_proposal Someone posted that on the forum a couple years ago regarding the west stand and I thought it was a great idea and looked brilliant.
Could easily incorporate a proper fan zone into it and generate loads of pre match income iv no idea why people wouldn’t want that, architecture on that is really well thought out too
The sad truth is that the owners have not stumped up for repairs to get it back in use so the likely hood of them going the whole hog & investing in a new stand is somewhere between zilch & zero .
