Well that doesn’t follow. I’d prefer the ground owned and managed in perpetuity by the local council. So that it remains an asset for the people who support the Club and the town. Any owners, taking ownership of the Club would have to accept that. The capital investment in the ground then becomes an issue between the two parties. And I know it’s not fashionable in the UK but that development shouldn’t be beyond the capability of two parties who genuinely had the interest of the Club and the town at heart. I’m not after agreement on this point. It’s just my view. I just think it secures the future of the Club/ground from unscrupulous owners - whoever and wherever they come from.
The current west holds 5000, the east 7500 (give or take a few dozen either way). Replacing the west with a replica of the east would change our capacity from 22815 to 25312. An increase of 2497 seats That's off the safety certificate issued for this season
The west stand does need updating, as soon as realistically possible financially and logistically. As some people have alluded to, I think it is starting to diminish our 'match day experience' and therefore our potential matchday revenue. The stand doesn't need to be any bigger. What would be absolutely ideal, is if it could be extended so that it met the ponty stand and filled in the gap between the stands. We never, ever play well when the wind is up and blows right through there, also it would look 100% better. If we do want to increase the capacity one day, surely the easiest stop would be to extend the stand that was purposefully designed to be extended (Ponte or North?) Re: the grass, I doubt shadows will be too much of an issue going forward with sun light tech increasing such an amount over the last decade.
Because ‘doing a Chansiri’ is to raise money by ‘selling the ground’ ie it’s simply a device for them to pour more money into the club. But our current owners have no desire to do that. The risk, obviously is that the next owners might not have the business acumen our current owners do. but realistically can we live our lives in fear of worst case scenario?
I say we go up, refuse to do anything with the ground and ask sky to foot the bill for the media improvements if their boring pundits with degrees in stating the bleeding obvious have a northern nip in their pinkies.
Ballox. Absolute dream for me, getting proper media facilities. In fact, if we were to miraculously get promoted, it's the best thing that will ever happen to this club.
Miraculously, wash your mouth out. By the way I've a banner to hang up, a supporting message for the team, I'll hang it on the academy gates make sure it's on the recap. I'm doing it stealth whilst walking a dog, social distancing, etc etc. I'm hoping it will encourage other social distancing people to hang other supporting messages for the players to see on the old Grove street schools railings.
Thought they were they were the John Beresford Floodlights. Pony end stand helped funded by Gerry Taggart sale, East Stand was Carl Tiler, and of course North stand Ashley Ward

I'll wear a balaclava and make a youtube video like @Cunning Stunt when he's doing those Dave Currie mosaics Have l spelt mosaic correctly?
Our current owners no.1 goal is to make money. I agree we can't live in the fear of worse case scenario but whilever the council owns part of the ground it is there as a community assert that cannot be stripoed.
