    I've not read the book droog, but have seen the film a few times and you do get the meaning even though the actual words are nonsense

    Aye … brilliant film.
    I saw it at flicks in 70/71 before it was withdrawn by Kubrick and have watched it several times since.
    It’s still a powerful film which has aged very well

    It was a bit of a cult film at my school, mostly amongst the skinhead types. They completely missed the point of the film and just enjoyed the violence. I saw it at the time and didn't really like it much but it grew on me when I saw again a few years ago. I should read the book really.

    I think it’s actually classed as a novella rather than a novel. Pretty quick read.

    Yep. Just reread your post and got completely the wrong end of it first time around. I thought you were suggesting putting away fans in there and allowing them to nip across to the away end for refreshment etc.
