Do you genuinely think the west stand is a cherished architectural masterpiece? Other than it being old, I personally don’t see anything to cherish. The Victorian slums were also old.

Fulham's stand is nothing like ours though. It's got an intricate latticework to it's metal structure, it's got a majestic brick exterior, it's largely original and was built in one go over 100 years ago, it's a single story structure fully covered by the roof.

Ours is Frankenstein's monster. The only original part of it is approximately 2/3 of the upper tier. Well almost because the cladding on the rear of it isn't original, sections of the seating aren't original etc.

So what is it you wish to see preserved? The 'new' rear cladding? The non original outer wings? The garish TV gantry? The 1990s lower tier?

out of interest if I owned that house and wanted to knock it down, I couldn’t at the moment due to the order on the windows?
If I was really unlucky and some random youths smashed the windows up into pieces to the extent there was nothing left, would the order still stand, be revoked or application to have removed?

Not now but In it's day it was decent, and could be again with some investment and imagination...certainly not worse than breeze block crap.

Much of Fulhams had seen years of modification and wasn't original...the place was restored.

There’s no historical architectural significance to the stand unless asbestos is worth keeping . I used to stand as kid there so it’s got a sentimental significance to me but it really does need pulling down and replacing . The last time I sat in the West /north area was for the Chelsea FA Cup win , I’ll be first in the queue for a seat back there in a new stand

The best thing about the West Stand is that if you sit in it you don't have to look at the decrepit shitheap. Tear it down.
