Yes, the ones who fought for freedom. The ones who fought for choice, where you aren't dictated what to do.

He has made it clear in the past it is not about disrespecting the dead it’s about not supporting the British Armed forces in any way.

Whether I agree or not about his reasons . 13 civil rights marchers were killed in his home town. By British paratroopers. By the same token 35/50,000 ( unconfirmed) of his countrymen were killed in the 1st world war 5,000 in the second world war. ( Volunteers I may add as Ireland was neutral. Mainly because of the fear of civil war being a possible outcome) Be interested to know if any other of his country men agree with or understand his reasons. Innocent civilians sadly getting killed in any war/terrorism is a sad indictment. I would hope anyone with a sense of respect to all those that fought would wear one.

That’s a fair point you make I suppose. Not really after a slanging match to be honest. Still don’t like his stance though and I never will.

You're allowed to disagree with his stance and he's allowed to not wear a poppy. That's what the allied forces who fought fascism did for all of us.

They were singing the Diaby chant last Friday.

It's just a few weeks since anyone complained.

Every time the away fans sing the Diaby tune about one of their own players, it sets the Ponty off. And I'm talking about the corner closest to the West Stand, not the more notorious corner.

It's not racist. Songs like this are considered sectarian and as such get grouped with racist, homophobic and other such slurs.

I see him most weeks and have never plucked up the courage to say hello.

I quake in the presence of his stardom.

No, it's act within the laws of our country. Which he has. And it's act in a dignified manner, which he has. It's not apply pressure to do something that is a personal choice, because that in itself is fascism.
