Interesting to note that managers are now coming with a change to their game plan in order to counteract our style. But it's still not working, because we can adapt our game. We aren't just long ball merchants, we can pass a team off the park if we need to.
Apart from the 5000 seat away end/changing rooms/gym/training complex that sprung up last week, apparently. Also since when was the West Stand the main stand? Patronising git.
I take huge joy in the performance of these players and what they are achieving but the idea that this was all part of a Master Plan by the owners which is now coming to fruition is just nonsense and is simply a re-writing of what has happened over the past three season. What they can take credit for, if it proves to be the case, is the ability to make a series of **** ups - on and off the field - but to learn from those mistakes in their future decision making. That judgment is yet to be made.
they took on a plan that cryne started and enhanced it. 3-4 year contracts was a big improvement. Non of the players who left wanted to stay, that’s wasn’t their **** up.
The Cambridge team Rowett compares us to is the worst I can ever remember coming to Oakwell in terms of the way they played. They spent 90 minutes smashing the ball up into the corners where they could look for a cross, set piece or a long throw. It was absolutely dire.
That was the big bit if of information he missed. Plus suggesting the west stand is used as a urinal!! Bit harsh
Well, if you think that your one line sums up everything that has been done since they took over, that's your prerogative. I'd suggest you're somewhat over simplifying the situation.
I don’t think it’s just been a series of **** ups since they took over. Far less than cryne made and he never learnt from them
Yes, if that was the team with Dion Dublin plus Alan Biley or Steve Claridge. Effective but horrible to watch
It was 0-0. Best bit about the game was the final whistle. It was a high water mark for Cambridge but their style got found out.
Indeed. Makes those of us who were/are a bit more sceptical look like we've been proved wrong because it all turned out OK in the end, which certainly isn't the way I see it!
I'd say they've refined the plan by making sure that all players and managers fit the same style of play. It's really made a big difference. They've also been signing players on longer contracts, which is great. They made a colossal mistake in the 2019 summer window, but that was partly based on the expiring contracts from before they took over. They seem to have learned from their errors.
Agreed, but replacing them with all young inexperienced players was. However, it looks like they've learned from their mistakes and those players having gained experience the hard way are looking class players now.
