I'd like to see Hemmings given a proper chance, in his correct position rather than sign another player in a position we have covered. Otherwise what's the point in signing him?

Delighted with this. Bold, brave, typical Danny Wilson signing. And with that name, Mike Phenix is already my favouritest associational soccer player. Ever.

    Magic Mike.

    A big powerful forward

    Mike Phenix
    Squad Number: 7
Mike, 24, was signed from Skelmersdale United where he played a big role in helping them win the Northern Premier League First Division North. A big, powerful and hardworking forward, Mike has played most of his football in the North West, including spells with Hindsford and Droylsden, before his form for Skelmersdale attracted the attention of Liam Watson.

Really disappointed with Wilson at the minute. We have more strikers than you can shake a stick at. We got rid of Rose because we had a surplus - yet we have signed two more since then.

The full back situation needs sorting as a matter of priority.

Bailey seems to first choice in midfield. But, he is rarely available. Abbott would be the obvious replacement (as he has played there several times already this season), yet he picks Paul Digby.

Has Danny picked the same team twice this season? No wonder we are struggling.

George Smith will be fit soon. He and Dudgeon will be decent at left back, given time/patience.

And James Bree is fine on the other side.

Ok, thanks for that. Wasn't aware of the Peterborough lineup. At least he is trying!

I still think he has chopped and changed too much. Abbott would have been the obvious replacement for Bailey (and he has used him there before).

Both very young though (but talented from what I have seen). Hope we don't ask too much of them.

What are we waiting for Dudgeon to acquire then?

And with regard to the other younger players, we can't assume that they will get appreciably better just by growing older.

Nor should we be waiting for them to do so at the expense of watching a decent team get decent results.

Having 2 juvenile full backs will not work. Bree may be a decent prospect and I have no truck with him being in the team, but at times he has not been "fine". Not that he should be criticised whatsoever. We should have someone to be able to take over from him as and when.

    But we don't.

Now we have just apparently brought in another winger, which is simply testament to the mediocrity of the wingers we have. Plus at age 25 he doesn't sound like a youngster we're developing.

We still haven't got the big lad up front that Danny was going on about weeks ago.

We seem to obsess about a romantic notion of young lads growing into a team. As though this excuses crap results/performances because there's a bigger picture, a golden dawn arriving.

Danny's abandoned that already, if indeed he ever held to it. If it ever was sold as a philosophy, it was only a diferent way of saying "we can be good on the cheap".

So what we should be trying to identify is a pattern of playing that evidences the developing strength of a team.

Sometimes you think you see summat.

    Just vaguely.

But sadly the best we have seen arises from the individual efforts of Hourihane and Cole.

Meanwhile without the ball we have been largely chronic.

    Still, onwards and upwards.
