I haven't I can remember snow like we had this week about once or twice since I've lived in Leeds - 8 years now.
RE: I'd say the heaviest snow fall in 20 years is extreme 20 years is rubblish. We had much heavier snowfalls in 1994 and 1996. That's without even thinking about it. I can date them because of things that happened in my life at the time.
RE: I'd say the heaviest snow fall in 20 years is extreme I suppose we could take your memory of events over meteorologists statistics if we wanted, but wouldn't that be kinda stupid? I suppose this debate has proved one thing, some people will argue over absolutely anything.
Aye but... It takes at least 2 to argue, so we're all guilty My excuse is that I'm at work and it's more interesting than working, and I'm getting paid double time
RE: I'd say the heaviest snow fall in 20 years is extreme Well lets put it this way, without even having to mention anything too personal. We have had several much heavier snowfalls than this while we have lived in this house. According to the mortgage papers we moved in 20th September 1995. I have also had to dig the car out of the garage; I have never had a garage before.
Well it's alright moaning on the day of the match being called off, but I don't see the need for it to carry on today. Nobody as died, there's more important things to worry about, it was only the mighty Palace and the game will get played just not today. Oh no he doesn't......
Again that quite frankly is a red herring. The track around the pitch is hardly a crowd safety issue. It can be cleared of snow and can be run on in cold weather just the same as running track can. If ice was present it could have been removed. Your defence of the postponement is very bizarre indeed.
Au contraire.
TheICE (not snow)ison and below the surface. I'm still waiting for you to explain how you'd remove it. And it's not a crowd safety issue, it's a player safety issue.
Your insistance that you know better than the ground staff and safety inspectors is very bizarre indeed. Oh no, hold on, they're making it all up to get the match postponed aren't they? lol.

No fecking idea I fecking live in Oakwell I am well aware of the weather conditions that have prevailled over the last few days. I can see what the ground is like, what snow remains around all the local area, the buildings and the stadium included. I can even see inside the ground and into the stands from my house. I am better placed to judge the situation than you are and that is a fact. There are games going on at this minute all around the country, one 12 miles or so down the road where the weather has been worse than in Barnsley. I give up. The match is off mainly because, IMHO, it suits the current football team situation.
The surrounding area you're describing ad infinitum....
...is completely irrelevant. My information comes from one of the people responsible for assessing the ground yesterday. Someone who's actually seen, first hand, the conditions INSIDE the ground. If it's more comfortable for you to pretend that someoneis lying than it is to admit that he may know more aboutit than you do then fill yer boots.
