really Is the stadium some sort of microcosm subject to different weather to the surrounding area? is it ****. Of course someone who postponed the game would say it was unsafe. It does not mean that it is an accurate assessment though and they are hardly likely to say otherwise in any case.
Yes, that's right. You can see better from your bedroom window.
So you're saying he's lying are you?
Just a yes or no will do.

I'm telling you that its my opinion that if Barnsley football club had wanted today's game to go ahead, it would have done. The condition of the "track" of all weather surface to which you seem to be citing as the reason for the postponement would have been improved / cleared / deemed safe by the person / club employee that no doubt advised that it wasn't. End of story.
Wrong wrongety wrong.
I cited ice underfoot on the terraces as a reason for the postponement not the track.
And the person who was involved in the decision andtold me about the conditionsis not a club employee and has nothing to gain from the postponement.
Now, either you can see the conditions underfoot on all the terraces better from your bedroom window than he can from standing on them or you're saying that he, for reasons known only to himself, was lying to get the match postponed.

There are no terraces for a start If the cleared the pitch and the car park they could clear the limited amount of seating affected by the weather. If Barnsley football club had wanted the game to go ahead it would have done.
The point you appear to be missing Is that the snow would have been cleared if BFC had wanted the game to go ahead. And you are right, I have no idea about what the inside of the ground looks like.I've never seen snow inside Oakwell before its a complete mystery to me what happens to it inside. It must change state into some indistructable substance unknown to people outside the ground.
[img=http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/2040/yesterdayue0.th.jpg]

We had heavier snow in barnsley 2 or 3 years ago Heavier through the 90's too. The 'experts' claim it is the heaviest snowfall every time, its the coldest winter on record every year, hottest summer, heaviest rainfall. Not a year goes by without us hearing at least one of those.
Don't know why you're going on about snow.
Itold you there was ice on the stands, you said there wasn't. Now you're backpedaling and sayingthere mighthave beenbut it could have been cleared. With salt. Pff-ff-ff! I think it's you who, having painted yourself into a corner, is missing your point.

I give up fisrt you says its ice on the stands... Then the terraces...which dont exist Then the track..? Now back to the terraces and in the stands. I'm telling you that if BFC had wanted the game to go ahead, it would have done.
RE: We had heavier snow in barnsley 2 or 3 years ago At last, someone with a memory span greater than a goldfish!
I would if I was you.
Having spent the entire day saying there isn't a problemwith the stands you've now done a complete u-turn and decided what you're actually saying is that there is but they could have fixed it.

RE: We had heavier snow in barnsley 2 or 3 years ago When the "experts" say that it is the heaviest snowfall we've had for 20 years, what they mean is that it is the heaviest snowfall we've had IN LONDON for 20 years. If it hadn't hit London it wouldn't have been a story.
When you think about it, it is one hell of a generalisation to apply it to the whole country, as it affected different regions quite differently.
I remember me and the missus having to abandon the car and stay out overnight in 1994 (in Agbrigg of all places!!) when we couldn't get home from Wakefield - I'll wager that it didn't even snow in London.
