I love the attitude of people who make out they work harder than others & claim to know how many hours others do when in reality they've not got a clue.

I've got plenty of time for teachers, went to school in a rough area & saw the way many spoke to them, kids turning up without a bag, not bringing homework, not bringing a pen with them etc because it was seen as 'cool' not to. Teachers regularly spent the first 15 mins of lessons sorting all these kids out.

Then you could guarantee that at least 1/3rd of the kids in there were little *******s who'd make it difficult for everybody to learn.

Then you've got things like parents evenings when you have to sit & talk to the little *******s parents & the vast majority of them are as bad as the children as that's who the children have been influenced by.

In some ways it's a job I wouldn't mind doing as it's probably rewarding educating people but at the same there's that much **** that goes with the job that it's not very appealing. I definitely wouldn't want to teach anywhere in Barnsley that's for sure.

    Exactly.

It's all part and parcel of the media portrayal of teachers. Of course there are bad ones. Of course there are **** schools. But the vast majority of teachers I've met are there to help our kids, in turn helping all of us. Why wouldn't we be looking to pay £30k and attracting the very best into teaching?

Because it doesn't make anyone any money. But it is starting to.
