    'Essentially we have too high a standard of living to produce large numbers of driven sports stars.'

    Thats a quote from that article and its complete and utter rubbish!

    We happen to be pretty bloody amazing at cycling. Surely this cant happen with our 'high' standard of living? No, its because weve got a good system for cycling and great facilities. And i'd say cycling is a sport in which you have got to be fairly driven.

    Its a fact. yes fact, (and this time it is one) that countries with a higher standard of living tend to do better at sports of all kinds.

    The system for tennis is all wrong, its not because we dont have empty swimming pools to play in.

    He must have done. Because it seems he has a distaste for 'keyboard warriors' and not turning up to meet Mr Knowles when invited would be a total contradiction of that stance......

    Yes, poor countries are rubbish at cycling

    Those performance enhancing drugs don't come cheap. They come expensive.
