At least its origination is. A quick Google shows he never said those words (he's not PM anymore), thirdly the source is at best, confused. It looks like this has been borrowed from elsewhere and then forwarded on by someone wanting to use the words for their own ends.

I'm always wary

of any email or posting of a quote that does not include a link to the source.

Had an anti-Barack Obama one a couple of months ago, 1 quick search showed the allegations in it to be false.

The problem in my view is that people should stop aspiring to be anything other than decent human beings. I have no time for small minded nationalism, a belief that, to borrow a quote, "my country is better than yours just cos I happened to drop out of my mothers pussy on it".

To make it worse those spouting this nationalistic nonsense are often the first to treat people of other countries in an entirely contradictory manner as they demand that those coming to live in their country should behave. One rule for us, one rule for everyone else.

That, needless to say, does not excuse people of any background in the UK in treating others as they would not like to be treated themselves. Living in a supposedly 'country with Christian values' you'd have thought this would be not only blindingly obvious, but something people were brought up to not only believe in, but act out.

I was only interested in peoples reactions to the STATEMENT........ who said it, when they said it and if it is an exact quote .......... doesnt particulary interest me...... Well I think if you are going to post and claim it comes from a particular source (in this case the Prime Minister of Australia), then it is rather important whether it did originate from there or not, and whether it is quoted correctly or not.

Seems a complete rant - which was why I was wary of the source to start with.

Some interesting points but put forward in a very vitrolic and ranting manner. I can almost see the guy spitting as he wrote it.


And all he said in the original post was "If only", thereby implying if only other leaders would follow his example....being that it didn't originate from the PM tends to sort of say - what point was he actually trying to make?
