    Get Tommy Wright in theer

He reminds me of Brendan O'Connell. Bit of a nutter, plenty of energy, some skill, but not enough to play up front. We bought O'Connell as a striker and turned him into a good (if sometimes headless chickenified) central midfielder.

No? Perhaps not, but we've mentioned everybody else.

It'll be probably be Kay, so everybody get their knives sharpened and be sure to have a real good go as soon as he makes a mistake.

    I know you're not a fan, but

Over first ten yards he's very sharp. That wouldn't help him in midfield like, just saying.

    Dunt think he's interested

He keeps sending the flowers back.

I wouldn't play Kay in midfield. He hasn't looked up to it last few times I've seen him there. And I think we'd miss him at the back. As good as Reid and Carbon have played this year, for my money the best two centre halves have been Kay and Hassell. Dunt think Reid is much cop in midfield either like. Or Wroe. Or anyone else that's been mentioned. I'd like to see us get someone on loan. Now.

I'd much rather have Kay in midfield than at the back
Reid and Carbon then in central defence.

    It's not everyone

I didn't rate him at all before this season. He ran about a lot. But he's got goals and assists this year. Lots of 'em. That'll do for me. He's been utter wnak last couple of games I've seen like, but that wasn't the case for much of the season. No world beater, but he's played his part in this promotion push.

    Last night

When Crouch came on and changed the game, your right to a football opinion went up in smoke! :)

I reckon Shuker would be OK in there. The only thing is that I have heard that Swansea are big and tough. Not that Shuker doesn't get stuck in but we would have to get the ball down and play it around. Goalkicks would have to go via the full backs as there wouldn't be much height down the centre (not that Howard gives that anyway) but Austins distribution is erratic. Pitty Tongue isn't fit as he can play in centre midfield or right back for that matter.

    You really think that?

Without him we wouldn't have won last night. I know it was only a friendly, but there could quite easily be a similar game in the world cup. He offers the team something different. He's a great option to have on the bench.

    Have to say

I'd take him. would I start him? no way. would I want him as an option if/when we need to change tact/get desperate? absolutely. we have too many similar players (eg Owen, Defoe, Bent, etc), Crouch gives us something completely different. god forbid us having to use him like, but when you're taking 23 players, he's more likely to get used than some others.

Yep you are probably right - offers a different option for certain if he's on the bench....still think he's ***** though! Makes Emile Heskey look like Pele!
