    Its very very unlikely we will play Portugal in the second round.

    Only way it can happen is if Portugal win, Iceland win and Iceland finish above Portugal on either goals scored/goal difference.
    or
    If Portugal draw, Iceland draw, but Portugal's draw is high-scoring and they go above Iceland.

    Its far more likely that Portugal finish 1st (if they win) or 3rd/4th if they don't.

    2nd round vs Hungary/Iceland, potential quarter final against a France team that look vulnerable and under pressure, and suddenly it doesn't look quite so bad.

    I'm a pessimistic England fan, but I don't think its a disaster. Really wouldn't fancy playing Croatia based on what I watched last night!

    This is true. And looking on the bright side, if our chucking away of first place might be costly, it's nothing compared with Spain's negligence.
