we re fairly happy with it - got the sutton off plan about half a year ago now, hoping it goes up a bit in value - really like the area personally. reckon they might be open to a bit of negotiation, we've had to buy the freehold though because all the properties are 140 year leaseholds which is a bit crap i think, the freehold cost another £4000 - there is also a service charge of £100 a year for the upkeep of the development but it sounds quite nice what they are doing, lots of trees etc surrounding it. not sure of other developments in the area but its a pretty big development and these are the first few so i guess it can only go up in value? if you are looking for investment property, i think sheffield is a good bet , pm me if you need any info because i'm fairly familiar with it. a fellow red as a neighbour is always a good thing
oh yeah got a discount of around £4000 because my wife works for the NHS - i think you get it also if you work for government / armed forces so not sure if thats any help to you? i suppose it shows there must be scope for negotiation too
hehe - i haven't even got a barnsley accent mate - grew up in lincolnshire ! have you been to look at the plot in penistone, its worth a look i think to check out the plans and stuff. which of the properties were you thinking about? we had a look in the sutton crescent which is about 10 grand more than the normal sutton but i would say it isn't worth it. you get more room but all the rooms are in weird shapes. the whole development is pretty big and i presume the ones which are built earliest will make a bit of money. theres a bus stop right outside also which goes straight to barnsley - handy for saturdays!
I am considering the two bed appartments (top floor with a balcony) @ £136k on a buy to let basis,(purley for investment purposes) i quite liked the look of the development,it looks better than the two other developments on Green road that have been up about 3 years. I currently live in the area and i can tell you its a lovely place to live. Welcome! might actually by you a drink if your lucky.
so long as you don't tell me any shady rumours about Cureton joining for £45k cheers mate, would be good - let me know if you need any info on it
