    It's part of Barnsley MBC, it has Barnsley councillors, they pay council tax to Barnsley.

    It's just stuck up folk who don't want to say they are from Barnsley and think it's far more posh to be from Sheffield.

    See my post above. If you're told to say it's Sheffield, it's purely for Royal Mail's convenience, no-one elses. Barnsley MBC allocate addresses in Penistone, because it's in the Barnsley Borough - not Sheffield City Council.

    bloody awkward, that's what it is!!

    At the moment it's part of Barnsley, but when the Electoral Commission implement the proposed boundary changes next year it will become part of Sheffield... I think!!

    The parlimentary seat is being merged with stocksbridge

    and sheffield hillsborough is being abolished. (if only it were literally)
