Beating our local Rivals is essential When we were promoted from League One, I didn't give a stuff who we beat or who we lost to on the way. I think it is different for us in the Championship because would supporters be happy with an improved finish and DEFEATS against the other local teams? I just don't think it is a simple as "getting more points than last year."
RE: A bizarre deduction... Depends on whether you enjoyed the game yesterday or not. You say it was just 1 in 46 which I presume was how you viewed it rather than the entertainment value. I thought it was a really good game and that we played very well in the second half. Seems like a positive end to a good month for us. Were you not happy with the performance? Did you sit there being unhappy that we won despite Davey's tactics?
While based on your theory we only need to go to one home game a season because the rest of the matches don't matter if we beat sheffield wednesday.
If so, wouldn't Brian Howard have still been on the wing? AR let Jacob Burns leave the club (because the midfield didn't get enough goals). He shifted Brian Howard across into the middle and, well..
