He played a stunning through ball for Calvin Plummer to run onto in that game. Plummer's debut I think.

    There you go.

Strangely enough I don't remember him coming back for a 2nd spell, I can remember Ian Banks coming back to us and not even being half the player he was in his 1st spell.
What were the actual dates when Glavin came back and was playing?

As Turvey Tyke says, it was the start of the 1985/86 season

He played against Brighton in the first home match, which we won 3-2. Ian Walsh and Gwyn Thomas scoring for us, Dean Saunders and Martin Keown for them. Allan Clarke played a long ball style of football those first few months ala Wimbldedon, Watford & Sheffield Wednesday at the time. Although it got us a few victories, it was deadly dull to watch and didn't make use of the talents of Glavin or Gordon Owen. We played with three central defenders in Larry May, Paul Futcher and Kenny Burns. May, in particular, struggled big time with the formation.
By the time Clarke altered his approach, dropped Burns and played a standard 4-4-2, Glavin was no longer being selected. The first game which we used this was at home to Leeds, October 1985. Billy Bremner had just taken over as their manager. We won 3-0. Gordon Owen scored in the first half, David Hirst (his 1st ever league goal) & Ian Walsh scored in the second half.
All dull, tedious and pointless. Sorry.

    Re: Don't remember that

I saw Ronnie in the Wilthorpe Hotel on the night he missed the penalty at Milmoor, and told him that I'd have bet my house on him scoring. He pointed out that the 25 yard free kick he'd scored with a bit later made up for it a bit. Fair point I thought. Fabulous player - not seen his like at Oakwell since (not in a red shirt anyway).
