    RE: I thought

No. I was in the first year at school to do SATS. I think it was about 13 years ago when they were introduced?

RE: be careful of unfair dismissal!!

No they didn't have adequate supervision in all honesty (no staff left to supervise them) - that's why the person got let off so many time, because in effect as a team we were unable to supervise properly - however, the mistakes that were being made were generating more work than if the person had not been there at all - hence the dismissal. Not very nice, he is a cracking lad, but it was all too much for him. He fully accepted that we couldn't carry on like that.

They are for the school/Government's benefit

but the results are used to assess which grouping you fall into for G.C.S.E.'s - higher or foundation level. Basically whether you will be able to achieve A* - C level or C - G level.

I know you can be swapped from one course to another but I rather not have to go down that route. I am trying to maintain my grades despite my illness and having to have so much time off.

ah well. sounds like a case of a team failure. Need to get someone in who needs very little supervision.

    That happened to me too!

Nasty little buggers they are, what with their spears and shrunken heads all over the place.

Looks like a scene from The Great Escape did McQueen come flying over hill on his bike in the background. Cant tell which one of you is playing the part of the blind one.

    Great photo.
