Myth?Sorry he drove past us in Woolley village in his chauffeur driven car - four of us saw him - me included! Do you seriously think he would drive past a picket line in the car? I've read enough from both sides to draw my own conclusions - I'm not pro Tory - far from it - I went through through the strike with my family and saw the harm it did to us and the town I hate thatcher as much as the next person

you are right ,I wouldnt ever have seen him drive past a picket line in a chauffeur driven car,...same as i wouldnt have seen him in a daimler,Scargill was on a programme with the fella from look north or calender (i cant remember which) doing his familly history, and he was asked about his so called jag he was supposed to have bought during the strike, needless to say it was a myth,,,,scargill was hacked and followed every minute of the strike by the media and the governments secret service, not once did they ever come up with any photos or evidence of this car,it was all a ploy to try and destroy the moral of the lads on strike.
there'l always be someone out to get him,for whatever reason, they've been trying for years to pin liable cases on him and making comments about what he was supposed to have done, every time they have failed.
scargill had to have body guards during the strike and for a long time after it , what you saw was probably just that,,,,,

Wimpiest looking bodyguard I ever saw -it was a very nice car for someone who was leading men through a strike who were claiming a tenner a week from the strike fund. Cost slightly more than that to fill it up
