For sheer absolute ecstasy, the moment of Clint's goal.

I don't think that I could ever have that feeling again and, and don't tell the missus this, but i include our wedding and the birth of our daughter in this.

Of course, they both meant much more to me, but i'd had nine months knowing that i was going to have a child, so although seeing her for the first time at the birth was fantastic, it didn't have the same impact as Clint's goal, because up to that point a goal could just as easily have gone in the other end and ruined it all...I'm not explaining myself very well here really am I?

But hopefully you'll know what I mean. Clint's goal meant that after watching the reds for 20 years we had actually achieved something that we never thought would happen.

Funnily enough though, the evening of all three above events went in exactly the same way, with me getting horribly drunk in Barnsley, Edinburgh and Camden Town, respectively.

Incidentally, the worst moment was probably sheffield united's last minute penalty in the second replay of the cup in the early 1990's, which cost us a home game with man united a few days later,

So many in 25 years of been a red

[*]Vs Bradford- The whole week building upto the game was amazing, and then actual day even better.[*]Vs Arsenal in Prem at home. Seeing the Arsenal fans (and players) applaud the Barnsley fans for singing 'Champions' during the game.[*]Vs Liverpool @ Anfield[*]Vs Ipswich @ Wembley[*]Vs Swansea @ Cardiff[/list]

I'd hate to support the likes of Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. It must be so boring to have success all of the time.

    Clint's goal. No contest.

An rollercoaster season of both champagne football and blithe surrender made us early high-fliers only to see our hopes fade after Christmas. Then as our fortunes began to tentatively revive, Wolves's fortunes faltered and suddenly, after Wolves fail to beat Grimsby in midweek, it all boils down to one game, one Saturday afternoon.

We take an early lead only to be pegged back as chance after chance, each seemingly closer than the last, threatened to snatch the glory away. Then, as we were too busy watching last 5 minutes tick down on the scoreboard clock, willing them away, suddenly Marcelle broke free at that end of the ground. All eyes on him as he forged his chance to strike for glory - and what a strike! The communal outpouring of nervous energy that followed was like nothing I've seen before or since - Cardiff included - and the relief that washed through every nerve in my body as the knowledge set in that no-one, no-one could take it away, is still with me today.

    Heady times indeed.

And this year, just to hang on for survival would be enough. Funny old game.

To be fair we've had some decent times...

Bradford win and Cardiff are of course the best but also the day at Wembley other than the result.

Like many others I have to select Clint's goal

When it went in , the home defeats against the likes of Barrow , Workington , Southport & Aldershot ( all no longer in the Football League ) games that moment even greater significance . I'd been there during the bad times and the club and I had finally reached the promised land .

Sorry, it has to be Clint's goal for me too..

Whatever life may hold (or has held) in store for Clint Marcelle, one kick of a football has ensured that he will never be forgotten in this town.

Impossible for me to describe what it meant when others have been so eloquent except to say that my abiding memory of the day is of standing on the pitch at the end, sobbing my heart out and wishing that my late father (he who went to a game at Oakwell on the day of my birth!) was standing beside me and my sons.

Man Utd in Cup replay. 3 of my brothers are Man U fans, 2 of them are season ticket holders, After the match in the Mount was absolutely amazing. BeatingMan City in league Cup was up there too.

Obviously the promotion to the Prem is the one but more recently I would go for the win at the GayFarm last season in the 2nd leg. It was a massive party in the away end and we all stayed in the ground for ages after the game singing "Bring out the Barnsley" and "Were not going home, were not going home, were not going, were not going, were not going home" to the police and stewards. Sends a tingle down my spine thinking about it. The final was also a reight party but I think the semi-final win just shaded it. Probably the best night I have had in football. (rockon)

Very well put, but I actually want to cry now. I also can't believe how badly this season has been handled. :'(

Clints goal, that numb feeling will stay with me forever

barnsley in the premier, all those hard years forgotten, it was surreal, the night out in Barnsley was superb, it will never be repeated, the first time in the top flight and all that, beating Scum U in the cup, first time i saw em away-Barrow in the late 60,s and seeing a car driving home in front of us with a Toby sticker in, seems like yesterday, and we won 1-0

    Cardiff 2006

After seeing us destroy Oldham 3-0 towards the end of the season, my confidence of us going up was sky high.

Thought we'd blown it after watching the 1st leg against Hudders. At half time of the 2nd leg down at the bar we said we needed to score very early on to have a chance in the 2nd half, and we needed to start shooting from distance!!

The players must have heard us :D Fantastic 2nd half, very nail biting, instead of the clock counting down the time they seemed to be adding more and more!!

Finally came the day of Swansea at Cardiff, too nervous to eat or drink before the match. When Hayes scored suddenly we could see The Championship on the horizon, but suddenly at half time we were staring another season in League One down the barrel. Thank **** for Danny's free kick!! That was a moment of ecstacy, only to be topped when Nicky saved Tate's penalty, I wanted to cry but I couldn't, I was in sheer shock that we'd actually done it.

These moments will never be forgotten, these are what football was made for.
