    Exactly what Dave said

You quite simply cannot compare football currently with how it was in the past - the playing field has been skewed so much by the concentration of money at the top it's untrue.

However, if anyone has to make a choice between kids welfare and football then it has to be your kids - they only grow up once - there'll always be another football game - what division it might be in could change like.

Personally I think the current management team have it in them to make us challenge the big lads in this division if they are backed, it'd be a shame to miss that journey but i'm not going to call anyone for prioritising their family.

To be fair he did say clothes and food too. Surely important?

Why aren't we being pro active in looking for new investment? How many million/billionaires in the world are there to try and get involved? Cryne wouldn't even have to sell the club unless he was sure they had good intentions. I'd not even be bothered about spending millions on players, i'd be quite content with keeping our existing best players. Under the current board waiting for a money man to come knocking to buy the club we are not going to move forward.

Personally ... I can't wait for next season

I thought that the first half was great entertainment yesterday. It should have been 2-2; there was NOTHING wrong with Done's goal and if we'd gone in level who knows what might have happened.

Birmingham are on a 15 match unbeaten run including a draw with Chelsea the match before us and whilst it's disappointing that we sought to go route one in the second half it was understandable as Birmingham's pressing play didn't give much opportunity for the short passing game.

I have been more entertained than at any time since our return to the Championship this year and I really do think that Hill/Flitcroft are starting to build something useful. I think that with the close season behind them, a bit more money to spend with some high earners off the books things we're going to see an even more competitive team next year.

I think that there has been a Sheffield Wednesday style "MASSIVE" over-reaction to losing against a very good Birmingham side (not something I'm accusing you of, your post was well reasoned even if I do disagree).

I'll be happily parting with my £300 and I hope that more people do to.

Our club are doing everything they can within tight frame-work and to be honest if those that expect a Blackpool style rise to promotion decide they aren't coming then the only thing I'll miss will be their money for the club.

But don't you admit that investment from an non-partisan person or persons could pave the route to destruction?

    Great Post

I'd pay for my season ticket for next season now if someone sends me an invoice. Club is on the right track financially, too early to say on the playing side.

    Re: Great Post

Football mirrors the economy, the world's economy is in a mess because of the last 40 years the policy was debt, debt and more debt. I would rather Barnsley continues to be run on the current lines and lives within its means. If the club went bust who would bail it out, for one thing the council would not be able to help. Football needs a reality check, consider how many countries have 4 full time leagues, there is only so much money to go around.
