Devaney - 1 good game in 5

no left foot and no bottle. brilliant on his day, but it only comes round too occasionally, crowd pleaser oh yes, but end product, not often enough. two trick pony. sorry like, but Hayes on the wing is how we finished the season, and I reck if you look at his stats, he's as many assists as Devaney.

we need Nardiello in the side, getting on the end of chances, if we're going to score our way out of trouble. and Devaney needs a spell out of the side to refocus, the realisation that he's not first choice will do him some good.

Totally agree SM. Devaney did start well this season but last few games (I didnt make Sunderland) he's looked half the player he was. Not tracking back well, leaving Austin short at times, failing to beat his man, and more important for me he is trying fancy tricks too often.

Hayes is one player we have that does have skill, and the end of last season he made a big difference on the wing.... One down point, does shy out of tackles!

    Seem to remember

Devaney got dropped last season and came back reinvigorated and up for it. with Austin at right back, we could do with more cover, not sure Hayes is the answer either, but he's one of few real creative players we have in the side, and with him and Howard looking to put Nardiello in, I can see us scoring. Devaney cuts back inside too often and takes the easy option, step overs on the half way line might impress some but its end product that puts points on the board.

    Joe Coles season changed

when Mouriniho stated publicly that if he saw him playing for himself again and not the team, he would be dropped. after that, different player.

ask Van Nistelrooy who he'd rather have on the right feeding him bullets, Ronaldo or Beckham......

Shame Erikson didnt give him the same talk then!

Whilst Ronaldo plays out wide I reckon he could end up as a Henry type Centre-Forward.

As for Becks, whats he gonna do if he isnt in the team by January?

Its a shame but his style of play isnt suited to many of the top sides in England.

Where is the wide defensive cover - looks dodgy to me...we'd get ripped apart down the flanks.

I like a 5-3-2 with wingbacks providing you have decent players that can play as wingbacks - and I don't think we have the personnel to do that.

    So

    Colgan
    Hassell - Reid - Kay - Williams
    Devaney - Howard - Togwell - McIndoe
    Hayes - Nardiello

I reckon there are only 3 Prem managers wouldnt take him

his former employer, Benitez and Mourinho. the wife will want London, and given his big personal friendships with both Henry and Wenger, I can see him in an Arsenal shirt after Christmas.

Is he suited to Arsenal quick style of play though.

I figured maybe Spurs , especially as Berbatov and Mido seem popular with Jol , and Spurs dont have anyone who can cross the ball.
