Every single attack that went who paced Wiggins back up to it? Every single rider he rode away from it was behind or with Who? Froome, who on numerous occasions had to wait for Wiggins including when he wanted to go and catch Val Verde. Wiggins main contender for that tour was Froome so he had no competition there. He only beat him by 3:21 which Froome could have potentially got on a number of stages. However cycling is a sport where all efforts are put into one person winning. Due to the team strength Sky had, either Froome or Wiggins could have won. Wiggins was the chosen one so he got the glory and rightly so. Last year Sky were by far the dominant team, this year I don't even think they were top 3. Easily beaten by Saxo and Movistar. Wiggins would have struggled this year as he hasn't got the right skill sets for a mountain heavy route. Brailsford spotted this the day this years route was announced. I'll take his decision over anyone else's.
Either Froome or Wiggins could have won last year. Only Froome could have won this year as Wiggins wouldn't have gained enough time in the time trials to offset mountain losses.
