He seems a good bloke and obviously knows his stuff with the positions he's held and the psychology bit of it is important but he could do his self a favour and talk a bit more about football and why he cat play Moore and mcburnie as a front two.
You don't know that. Blackburn and Wigan were shocking last season and both look like coming straight back up at the first attempt. Rotherham not far behind them. Even without chucking money at the job, we still have better resources than the majority of league one. With what we already have and by attracting some decent additions we'll be back. The question is whether the new owners stick or twist when we get back up.
I don't think he does know his stuff.. more that through the places he's been involved at, bits have rubbed off.. but just saying that everything will just fall into place if everyone just believes .. is the kind of thing in a childs fairy tale Just believe Dorothy and you'll be back in Kansas..
And an experienced central midfielder. We all said it last summer no strikers and a experience missing and we were right and it's affected the whole season and the form of some potentially good young players.
That’s my thoughts for all this thread - some really negative sh.ite on here. I just hope our players don’t read this. IMO - these players are good enough for at least mid-table Championship and probably above. If we stay in the Championship - add a couple of new players - and we will be near the top next season. One of our main problems this season is this - the current squad just hasn’t had a full season together. Just imagine at the start of the season Harvey Barnes having Moore and McBurnie to aim crosses at. One thing I have noticed is this - I have never seen a team relegated that is able to play as good as what they did in the league they were relegated from. What usually happens is that the level of skill seems to drop to the level of the league they are playing in. The Premiership team was a good example of this. We all thought we would easily bounce straight back.
Do you think Wigan and Blackburn aren't playing good, winning football then? As for us, we were almost back in the premier league within 2 seasons. You honestly think this team, with a few additions is good enough to be near the top of the championship?
I can’t believe what I’m reading. Apparently Heckingbottom was proving a point to the owners by refusing to play 4-4-2. Seriously? Surely it’s pretty obvious it was because Thiam was unfit & Ugbo wasn’t up to it? Not everything’s a conspiracy
Why do you have to be so insultive , we know they have been poor but there are really no reasons to be offensive
Just cos you don't like what's been written does not make if *****.. The fact that theses players have played 39 games and amassed a points tally of just 34points.. with a GD of -19... All facts.. Would suggest to even the thickest pair of rose spectacle wearers.. that the opposite of these player being good enough ... for the championship ..is true.
We won't be the first club to over-optimistically think we can bounce straight back. No-one knows how many of this squad will still be here in August. Players will leave, they usually do after a relegation. The loan players will be the first, leaving us without a central defensive midfield. It isn't certain we will bring the right replacements in, given our sketchy recruitment in the last 12 months..
We may by some miracle stay up...I highly doubt it but it's not over till the fat lady sings and it was a good performance against Bristol. You can't seriously think this team would be good enough to challenge in the top half of the championship though? You remember the team of 13/14, Frimpong, Mellis, M'voto etc? They'd amassed more points at the same stage that season than our current team. That says it all really.
I started watching in the old Second Division, watched them drop to the Third North, bounce back for four seasons, then twenty years of pain until Clarke came and we bounced back to our natural level. The FA buggered the chances of an Ipswich winning the top prize or a Grimsby Town competing at the top level. But once a red, always a red.
Morais will go if we go down. Rightly so in my opinion. He’s job this season must have been to keep us up.
