You are talking a load of bs.

Seriously what planet are you from?

What if they don't want to fight? People don't have to fight to prove they're a Barnsley fan or that they're loyal.

Some people don't like fighting and that does not make them anyless of a fan. Not one little tiny bit.

If I saw trouble starting and there was nothing I could to do to calm the situation,

    I would call the cops.

I am at a loss as to why you think fighting makes you a Barnsley fan.

The people in the Barnsley end in Cardiff attacked the Police for no reason,

therefore I saw no reason for mayself to join in , as I assumed the Cops would give them a kicking.

I didnt stay to see the outcome as I didnt want to suffer any collateral damage.

I am sure Eastander would appreciate your support.

So then Nudge...Assuming you had a girlfriend...

and you found out she was being nobbed by someone who was a Barnsley fan or your car was broken into and you found out he was a Barnsley fan and then you saw him getting a kicking on a Sat'day by rival fans, you tell me that you would wade in and help him out?

That is what has pissed me off about your thread and loose train of thought that you have to fight to prove your loyalty to Barnsley, by this train of thought you must adorn the Leeds nutters, your bedroom must have posters of the West ham inter city crew from years gone by as iconic hero's of yesteryear, how you wish you were there because they were 'true' supporters.

I will stop now 'cos like most fol on here i am spent and done with it!

Well firstly you are big enough to look after yourself, if you can't sort out the guy then I doubt I can!
Secondly, the scenario you set was in seeing a group of Barnsley fans i.e. people you do not know and would not know why it started, now if I was in the Gatehouse and some one just came running in and lamped someone I was with or knew then I would try to get the guy off you/him, I wouldn't be flying in to kick **** out of them just to stop the fracas and throw the guy out. But then the same applies regardless of football, it could equally apply if I was in there talking to a Stoke fan and a Barnsley fan came in to twit him

What is the point of this whole thread. look how macho I am. Prisons are full of knobheads who think they are tough or believe they owe some kind of loyalty to a socially constructed group, because that is what we are at the end of the day as football supporters of any team and in lots in instances its the only thing that we have in common.

Think about the consequences, what if one of the guysyou attack falls down cracks there head and suffers serious injury or dies- Will misguided loyalty get you through an eight year sentence for manslaughter- and you will be amazed who no one will remember that loylty whilst you are in HMP Hull. What about the family of the guy that you attacked- how will you face them on your big day in court?

So you are a better fan than me Nudger because you are loyal to a set of blokes you have never met before- that is the biggest load of balls I have ever heard you speak.

well said Jimmy. I did Karate in my 20s, we entered competitions, sometimes it went a bit too far and people got hurt. This was in a controlled environment where people showed respect to each other. Stick a pub and alcohol into the equation and my mind turns to the breaking of wood we used to do, shatters in half if you catch it right. Imagine that is someone's temple, you hit them there you can kill them. You then end up in prision, some wife ends up a widow.

If I saw the scenario suggested, I'd try to help but I'm not getting involved in some pseudo macho brawl.

I'm sorry nudge, I normally respect your opinions although I don't agree with you, but this is tribal and in this case we're miles apart.

"Fight for the club and your fellow supporters
    OR
    Get out of there quick"

What a load of bull ****. Fight for the club? I'd like to believe that 'the club' doesn't want it's fans fighting in the streets. 'Your fellow supporters'? Football doesn't need violent fans. It's come along way since the mid eighties. Look at rugby, it's a fine game - seventy thousand people can go along and not a bit of trouble or abuse. Football is not a vehicle for moronic violent public confrontations.

It's posts like this that make morons believe there is justification is turning situations into violence. Let me tell you something - once you get involved in a large scale disorder (and if everyone wades into a public fracas it becomes large scale very quickly) you have no control over what happens to you, where it ends, or what agenda it ends up supporting. If you think otherwise you're a naive child.

    Bloody idiot.

    SUCH AN IDIOT.

You are such a moron. I'm sure you see yourself as some sort of macho heroic figure, and you have some sad limited fantasy about defending a poor inxxxxxnt in a bar brawl...

    You have no idea.

Doesn't happen all that often does it? One innocent sat in a bar, and for no reason whatsoever another runs in and just attacks him out of the blue?

Get a grip. You're living in your own little macho bull **** world.

Whether the two individuals are Barnsley fans, Southampton fans, cricket fans, stamp collectors what's it got to do with it? It's just one idiot attacking an innocent person, and you're saying the reason you'd get involved would be because one's a Barnsley fan???

I can see it now, person 'A' walks through the front door of a pub and attacks person 'B'. Person A is wearing a Wednesday shirt, you moronically intervene to defend person B, who happens to be wearing a Barnsley shirt, and you make it much worse, encouraging others to 'support the club'. Police turn up and you all get arrested, you offer the explanation 'I was defending a fellow Barnsley fan'. Turns out that person B was shagging person A's missus behind his back and it had nothing to do with football. Out of all of it, person A gets a reprimand for a common assault, you get a charged with affray and and abh and get sent to court, and the person B makes a statement against you saying 'I don't know who the **** that lunatic was (you), it had nothing to do with him at all'. Well done.
