F-Reg Metro 1.3L

5 door, white, cant remember the reg. Had that whan I was with the ex-Mrs Longley

I had a 2ltr MG Montego, G-plate. First car with the current Mrs Longley. Took her to her first BFC game.
The engine went on the fooker on the way back from beating the Blunts 2-0 (Hendrie & Eaden (In front of Ponty), from about 20yds, Thompson laid it into Eaden's path, and Eaden hit it first time.)

£36 for two tickets, and £350 for a recon engine!!!

Did'nt take her again, but she's still Mrs Longley!!

No it was green and black - hand-painted, you could see the brush marks!

Door locks didn't work, and it had an ignition button rather than a key starter - but I knew I could leave it anywhere cos nobody in his right mind would steal it!

I loved the old Barsteward to bits - sold it for scrap for three quid and it broke my heart!

which had an ally head and could do all of 55 mph. circa 1955/56 I then bought the love of my life a Jowett Javelin and like a P**ck exchange it for a new Ausin Mini. One of the many regrets in my life.

You can say that agin. Drove it home proud as punch. Shut the door and the passenger window fell out.

Another time I tought I was cool at some traffic lights, thought I was gonna burn this Porsche and leave it for dead. Revved it like ****, skidded away and the seat came off its housing and I ended up facing the roof. Stalled it 'n all.

    Happy days

    After our Standard 8...

For some reason me dad went down market and bought a green Austin A30 from a mate at pit. This A30 was bomb and it looked it. too. After being stopped (yet again) by a Bobby int brig, me dadwas fed up and so he soldit to the Bobby for a fiver.

(note the late fifties use of the term 'Bobby')
