    If you have a quiet spot where you could hide at home, you could just pretend to the wife that you were going to the match. Sneak into your favourite spot and just spend 3-4 hours without any nagging to get those "essential" jobs done... Best case you get a few hours of solitude, worst case you have to spend the season ticket money to appease her...
