Whats happened to Devaney?

Is this the same Devaney who in his first season in the championship came 3rd in OUR fans pole for player of the year????? Also to say he did nothing at Cardiff is absolute ****** what about the cross for the first goal for starters?

He does chase back and help out... I remember at Bradford in the FA Cup 5-3 win he ran fully 80 yards back chasing their quick forward and dispossed him with a wonderful sliding challenge when he was last man.

One swallow does not make summer and one good cross in 2 hours of football does not mean he is a man of the match contender after watching 100s of players in all divisions turn out for us you will never change my opinion of him, and I stress MY OPINION.

 

One of our top players. He didn't have a great season last season but still finished high up in the stats. On his day he is a right handful for defenders. Agree he doesn't have enough 'days' but cant deny he has got ability. And the suggestion that he doesn't chase back is nonsense.

Yes you are entitled to your opinion however in my opinion you are wrong! Plus when i mentioned 'the cross' i didnt say owt about him been man of match just making a point that he actually contributed something very very important in an assist in a goal that put us 1-0 up.

Thats fine but there have been other players over the last 2 years who have been alot less effective and there will be in the future as well! Find this whole thread very bizarre!

 

I find it bizarre that of all the players you could have chosen to have a go at, you've chosen Devaney. I'm not saying he's amazing but we certainly have far worse and less effective players.

 

He's had a poor pre season

but I think that is indicative of the lack of competition in his position. No doubt he'll be back on song on Saturday.
