You're forgetting that Reus and Gundogan would be starters were they not injured, so those two in for Klose (getting on a bit) and Sterling. Leaving Wayne as our only representative.
The only English player I'd put in a combined England / Germany side is Ashley Cole which is ironic as he didn't make our squad.
Do you honestly think that Phil Jones is better than Hummels? Some of your other statements are pushing the boundaries of insane but Jones better than Hummels really take the biscuit. Explain to me what Wilshere's done in his career that suggests he's better than Khedira? He can't even get a game for England ahead of Henderson. And on what basis is Khedira a bench warmer? He's spent months injured & Real rushed him back for the final before he was ready because he's that good.
You do realise Howedes is a centre half don't you, filling in at left back? And he's a rolls royce of a defender. Not a fan of Boateng, but he's better than Gary bloody Cahill. Hummels could play with his eyes closed and still be better than Phil Jones. Did you see that pillock against Costa Rica? I won't be comparing him with Stones though, because I rate John a lot. Not sure he's at the level of a Champions League and World Cup finalist just yet, but yes. Khedira is a hundred times better at football than Jack Wilshere. Schurle is young, but not far off Rooney already. I agree on Ozil, he's not as special as some think. Different player to Walcott though.
Jack Wilshere is the personifcation of the reasons why England will never win anything. Overrated, overpaid gobsh1te with the heart of a pea who believes his own hype. As for "bench warmer" Schurrle, he scored more goals coming off the bench last night than Rooney has scored in his combined World Cup starts.
On Phil Jones I honestly believe he's got the lot. Pace, strength, awareness, good in the air, discipline. He just needs to play games. It's almost impossible when your not playing to get in form and then confident. I watched Hummels against France and it wasn't good. He got a lot of luck and the French weren't that sharp or he would have got done. Khedira. In the last 2/3 seasons I must have watched him 40 times on TV plus and I can see why they at times show their frustrations to him at the bernabeu. He's not really good at anything. He's meant to sit in but they don't trust him and paid 30 million Euro on a player to do that. He doesn't go forward and thats why they have Modric. he could end up 5th choice central midfielder next season. Jack Wiltshire got a lot of skills. Very good on the ball. A lot better than Sami in tight areas and someone that can drive forward with the ball.
I bet you if you asked Jose who he would want between Rooney and Schurle he would say Rooney straight away. Massive admire of him. Rumors he tried to get him at Madrid and Chelsea.
Why do you keep having to bring other football managers/pundits into a argument which you lost last night. Jose doesnt post on here so we wont know his opinion. Just admit you are wrong and accept it.
Awareness & Discipline are about the last two attributes I'd associate with Phil Jones. What exactly did Hummels do in the France game? I watched the game & the German's weren't really tested, never noticed Hummels or any other defenders get lucky. Khedira's quality & always had been. I've no idea how you can say he's not good at anything. He's not meant to sit in at all. Alonso tends to play that role. He's a class central midfielder who can pass, create, reads the game, good tackler, good at covering & on last nights evidence is even adding goals to his game. If he was English he'd be our best player
Looks about right to me though at international competitive level Podolski has a much better record than Rooney (though he is average domestically( so that would be a close call.
Meanwhile on planet earth... You are aware that be team is n the World Cup final having just thrashed the hosts and favourites while the other lot didn't win a game and couldn't get past the group stage. Phil Jones is one of the most average players I've ever seen. I suspect he will be turfed out of OT pretty soon and once he no longer plays for manure that'll be it for him and England. The rest is just pie no the sky wishful thinking.
Each to their own, lad. But I don't think Wilshere or Jones would have got into any other World Cup side. Including Cameroon.
Ordinarily, I'd leave it be. But I can't help myself..... You've chosen seven English players there. Two of which are not regular starters and two who were not even in the squad for Brazil. Ashley Cole - Best years behind him. Boateng - Better than Cahill in my opinion. Hummels - Ok he's not brilliant but you've chosen an unproven player and a player who rarely even plays that position. I disagree. Wilshere - I'm afraid until he can string 10 consecutive games together without injury he wouldn't be near any side I'd choose. I'd take Rooney over Schurle, fair comment. Ozil blows hot and cold but no more or less than Walcott and he's certainly streets ahead of him in overall footballing ability.
He's made out of porcelain mate. I would happily put money on Wilshire not playing professional football beyond the age of 29.
The answer to the original question wS eDy wasn't it. A very good Germany team best a piss poor Brazil one. Shouldn't have wasted 3 pages when it paws obvious really.
