Well Chilavert scored 8 goals in 74 internationals. Thats about 1 in 9 on average. and thats international level not english 3rd divsion. I cant find his club record at the minute
RE: Well said Full Ponty So, do you stand by your statement that he can't "score for toffee" ? I didn't hear you complaining after Bournemouth or Huddersfield away last season, funny that.
RE: Well Chilavert scored How many did he score, that weren't from deadball situations? My guess is 0. Not that I'm saying free kicks and penalties don't count, because they do.
RE: Jose Luis Chilavert We have better strikers than Conlon e.g. Hayes, Richrds, Nards, Jarman. He is our 5th striker.
RE: Well Chilavert scored actually ive always thought penalties should be seperate or in brackets or something. I mean andy jonhson springs to mind. And how many goals could we take off shearer without penalties
With all due respect TMFDM You don't know what you're talking about. Neither do I, which is why I said as much, but you've just come out with a theory based on what? What you think should happen? It's pure speculation and as a result pointless. If you know then great, tell us. If you don't, shut up. 'kin 'ell, have that.
RE: Well Chilavert scored Well, I'm not saying they count any less, of course they don't. I'd just be interested to see if he scored any from open play ala Peter Schmeichel for Manchester United vs. Rotor Volgograd(sp?) and Aston Villa vs. Everton.
RE: Jose Luis Chilavert I never said we didn't. And they're all different strikers compared to Conlon, none of them are target men.
Bournemouth away-how could I forget the dying swan dive that earned him the penalty-Klinsmann class !!!!
he did manage to score the penalty though

RE: Well said Full Ponty He probably scored in more than that, but they are the two games where he really showed his potential.
