Its in black and white from the bloke who's job it is to decide, that Barnsley is not an attractive proposition for potential managers cos we dont give them time to turn it round. Davey kept us up twice and took us to Wembley in the FA Cup Semi Final. Sacking him now sends out and reinforces the believe that you just dont stand a chance at Barnsley. Wouldnt want it on my CV. The only people interested are the dregs. Davey has shown ability, he's not perfect, still learning, we need to stick with him cos there is no alternative. Its as simple as that.
Why keep harping on about Ritchie when there's nowt to compare bacon sarnies and head tennis, a blind spot on signings? The Championship requires more professionalism than asking for a computer system and leaving it in the box. Ritchie did a job by getting us promoted from the pub league but his methods arent suitable for Premiership 2. And hows he done since?
RE: Absolute load of **** I really do not know why Cryne and Davey ever bother saying anything to the press. There's loads on here always saying the club "should answer the questions" - "we need a statement" blah blah. They make a statement and all they get is abuse. If it was my money and I was Pat Cryne - I'd take it out of Barnsley FC, leave it to the bloody council to screw up and buy a nice big villa somewhere hot and name it "Dun Moaning"
Lots of things are down in black and white.
Doesn't mean you have to believe them. Therehave beensome glaring contradictions down in black and white recently.
All Davey has done is roll the dice. It's a mathematical certainty he'll throw a double six occasionally. Even did it twice in a row in the cup.
I think there arepotential applicants out there who have enough upstairs to spot a row of bad choices when they see one and I'm certain there are those who can see Davey is clueless.

RE: Why keep harping on about Ritchie when there's nowt to compare Fair enough but it just negates the point about giving managers time etc.. Cryne either thinks Davey is the person to take us forward or not. He didn't think Ritchie was. The stuff about "reign of terror" is therefore nonsense.
Its true though he's done the right thing by saying it. People seem to think the list of potential replacements is long and distinguished. Managers with any nouse dont look and wont look at Barnsley as an opportunity, regardless of what people might think, Davey is as good as we could get and has earnt the right to more patience and time.
Buying a new computer system and leaving it in the box.
Can you see an analogy there? I bet Christensen, Mostto etc can.

RE: Absolute load of **** Oh well. I'm not one of those who has ever asked anyone from the club to "answer questions" and I'd rather they didn't issue some of the statements that they have recently. It's plain that Davey is uncomfortable and prone to daft comments so he is better off not talking. Not so long ago Cryne gave an excellent and encouraging "state of the club" piece. He isn't immune to criticism if he comes out with silly smokescreens like today.
Championship Survival x2 and Wembley Semi Final on his CV that to me says TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS in BIG CAPITAL LETTERS. He's earnt it, for a big fat FACT. name a manager that has that or equivalent on his CV and I'll name you one who wont be interested in Barnsley Football Club.
oh and while I'm at it................. it can never be "Mathematically certain" that you throw a double six !!!
Did anybody notice the thinly veiled reference to the BBS?? Pretty sure he was reffering to the helicopter conversation, quoted on here, when he refers to,"somehow people still manage to overhear conversations that i have never had in trains, planes and automobiles",has to be a reference to Dysons helicopter posting last week!
I'll try again with this.
"Championship survival" is NOT AN ACHIEVEMENT. He shouldn't have had us struggling down there in the first place. And if you think Davey could pull off those two cup wins again in 100 attempts then you're seriously deluded. It was a welcome distraction but a complete fluke.
You're hailing as impressive two things that just aren't.

Absolutely.
There are still those who see the buying and freezing out of players, the disasterous teamselections and tactics, thelove-affair with a striker who couldn't find his own arse with both hands, the constant dicing with relegationand the ever worsening points per game ratio and league position as some sort of indication of potential.

.
