Not been unlucky, tell that to Coulson. To lose Anderson, Muller, and Coulson to the same injury last year wasnt unlucky? Bet your glass is always half full.:D :D

    RE: Injuries

I think Sodje has been injured for most of this season but Wednesday seem to be coping.

As for Coulson, Davey wouldn't pick him if he was fit - he'd rather persevere with the tried and trusted **** - Rigters and Spcial Kay

so are we to just blindly go along come what may.Is it Ok to take defeat upon defeat as the normale and just go on happily accepting that. And with every pisspoor performance /result just say "oh well at Least we have a team" is that the way forward.Patrick himself intimated that he expected a mid to upper table finish.

    Injuries, injuries, injuries.

to all you lot who moan saying Davey has had two years to get adaquate replacments - what are you on?
we are one of the smallest teams in the division, with one of the lowest budgets. To have a first team that can compete with the likes of wolves, birmingham etc...is an acheivement.

and you're moaing that our reserve players arent good enough?
Of course they're not. They're reserve players at Barnsley! What do you expect???

We barely have the funds to put out 11 players good enough for this divison and you are moaning that we dont have 15?

    I agree, partially

We should have had better replacements, and that is down to the manager. I think we have been a bit more unlucky than most, though, with injuries, sepecially cruciate ligament injuries. With Coulson's re-occurence that is now 4 in about 12 months I think.

I'm not defending the manager, just saying we have had lots of injuries.

Some poeple claim that the team are crap. Which team? The full team. with no injuries, is good enough for mid table, in my opinion. The team we have had out in recent games is not good enough, however (in my opinion).

Oh and by the way playing JCR standing on his own goal line behind Müller doesn't help either :D

Stop on! We are Barnsley and despite what some members would have you believe we are only a small club in this division.

It's the fans' fault, it's ALWAYS the fans' fault

Injuries cannot be used as an excuse as all clubs have them and, at the close of the summer transfer window, Mr Davey said we didn't need anymore players and was happy to go with what we'd got. Therefore, he was happy with the size of our squad.
So, as I'm always willing to shoulder my responsibilities, I'll take the blame.
Self righteousness a go go. :D

RE: OH FFS......here we go again....

So who you blaming for our form now then? Oh sorry its down to injuries and Anderson not being the same player isn`t it.

    Don't Agree at All

We have had far more injuries than normal, and far more long term injuries, even though you are right although all clubs have injuries.

I stand by what I said, our first team, injury free, is good enough for a mid table finish. That said, it is the manager's responsibility to ensure that we have adequate replacements. He has failed in that duty, in my opinion. Whether that is because he is crap, or has not enough funds, or both, I don't know.

I think there are also some motivational issues, which are down to the manager too. And the JCR sweeper business has baffled me.

Anyway let's just hope these new lads fit the bill. We might not get to see them for a bit because it's going to snow again tomorrow, apparently.

    If I was our chairman

And I'd sunk £millions into our club and I'd shelled out on the likes of Hume and Mostto and I was paying top dollar to the likes of Macken, Anderson and Muller, I'd be constantly pissed off at our fans referring to us as little old Barnsley with a tiny budget who don't deserve the right to be playing against the big boys. It's ballacks. Our budget is on par with the majority of teams in this division, we pay well enough to attract very decent players and we our spend on transfer fees is comparable to many. We deserve to be here and the aspirations of our current chairman who was looking for a top half finish tell me that he doesn't think of our club as a minnow punching above it's weight so I've no idea why the fans should think so.
